“Lily! Are you there?” Nik called out as there was no sound from the other side. “Lily! Lily!” He yelled over the phone. Since Drake Denholm knew about clearing out Lily’s name, he must have known about Lily's whereabouts too. “Kai, Let’s go to the apartment. Fast!” Both dashed out and Kai roared the engine.

“Hello! Hello!” He called out again. But there wasn’t any response from the other side.

“Hello!” A female voice came, which didn’t sound like Lily’s.

“Who are you? What are you doing in that house?” Nik burst out terrified. He was worried that the intruder would harm Lily.

“Your mother, Emily Cooper,” came the answer.

“Thank God!” Nik groaned and his shoulders collapsed in relief. He was no longer concerned about whether his mother knew about Lily or not. Everything seemed less concerning and unimportant in front of Lily’s life.
