CHAPTER III: “You owe me for tonight”

Jodie is determined about finding a company that will hire a fictitious writer like her. She shared her novel's outline to a lot of social media publishing groups, and she also included her phone number so that she might be contacted if anyone was interested in reading her work.

She left her laptop for a moment to go cook in the kitchen, because she was going to see her friend Alice today, who had a job to retire for her in at least two nights. She accepted the job offer so she could earn money for Jake's medication.

''Alright, Jodie. I have talked with my boss. You can start to work tonight.'' Alice said to her.

Jodie suddenly smiled. She was happy about it.

''That's great, Alice!'' she said with a happy face.

''Jodie, you must do your job very well, because my boss has an especial guest, alright?'' Alice went on.

''No need to worry, Alice. I will do my best. By the way, thank you for this." She hugged her friend.

"Anytime, Jodie, I'll inform Jake to spend the night in my brother's room tonight, so you have nothing to worry about. "

Jodie smiled and nodded.

Jodie dressed well that night. She was wearing the right clothes because the waitress had given her a job. The manager greeted her warmly at the bar and immediately showed her what to do. Because she already has experience as a waitress, the job has become easy for her.

While serving the customers, she accidentally turned her attention to the oncoming man, who was muscular and looked rich. She also noticed that the man was greeted by the bar owner, making sure it was what Alice was referring to as the special guest tonight.

"Miss, I've been waiting for my order for a while!" a man called out to her.

She quickly went to the kitchen to pick up the man's order from the other table.

While Kevin is busy looking for five excellent fictitious authors for their firm on the internet. Kevin is one of Gideon's confidants when it comes to dealing with other employees; he also knows certain business secrets. He was Geron Grande's previous assistant, Gideon's older brother who now operates a family business in Canada. That is why Kevin is an expert at managing the tasks that Gideon assigns to him.

In his search, Kevin came across a post by a lady named Jodie Ellen, he read the synopsis of its novel, and appeared intrigued by the entire plot, so he instantly contacted the number Jodie put in her post.

Jodie was busy with work when her phone suddenly rang. She could not use the phone during work hours, but she felt it was important, so she went to a quiet place for a while to answer it.

''Hello? " She answered the call as he covered his other ear due to the noise of the music in the bar.

'' Hello, is this Ms. Jodie Ellen?" asked the man on the other line.

"Yes, speaking?"

"Ms., do you know a peaceful area where I may properly talk with you?"

"U-Um, it's time for my work here at the bar. Can I know what you need from me? "

''I'll just send you a message so you can understand my offer. Is that okay?"

"Um, Alright Sir.” Jodie replied with confusion in her mind.

After a time, Jodie was taken aback when she read the message from the individual who had lately called her. It turned out to be from the Grande publishing firm, who appreciated her novel's outline. She instantly responded, and the entirety of her novel would be delivered to his email address the following day. Her dream brought her back to life. Her brother was correct. Her fate was guaranteed to happen.

When she returned to the bar to finish her work, a man from a nearby table grabbed her hand.

"Come seat her for a while, darling." he said, smiling at Jodie.

She looked at the man in shock, he was drunk and almost looked at her differently as if he wanted to touch her.

She was afraid to remove her hands from the man's grip. The man was surprised by what she did, so he stood up to follow Jodie to the kitchen.

The special guest noticed the rude man's insult to Jodie, so he blocked the rude man on his way.

"Stay away from the woman ..." said the special guests to the rude man.

The rude man was shaken, and due to his drunkenness, he was not in the right frame of mind, so he suddenly punched the muscular guests in his face. The customers were surprised, and even Jodie was amazed to see the incident.

The guards attempted to intervene between the two males who were fighting. Jodie instantly accused the rude man of insulting her, so the guards dragged him out. Jodie, on the other hand, approached the guests who helped her right away.

"Are you alright?" she inquired of the guest. She was taken aback by its stunning appearance and muscular body. Even though he was dressed in a long white long sleeve, the man's body was still in fantastic form.

"You owe me for tonight," even though the man's muscular voice.

Jodie could not speak immediately until the manager approached and apologized to the guests because he was also affected.

The guest stared at her. Jodie swallowed, as if she understood what it meant. It was sticky and appeared to want to communicate something to her.

"Um, thank you for everything you did tonight," she added as she walked away and headed to the kitchen.

Gideon could not understand how the woman acted in front of him. He thinks it avoided him suddenly, but he doesn’t know why. He realized right away that she wasn't like the other ladies he'd met and slept with.

After a few hours, Gideon decided to leave the bar because of a message he had received from Kevin.

When he read Kevin's message, he became delighted. Five of the author's had received Kevin at the time. Gideon believed they'd be Enough even before the interview since he had a ton of confidence in his assistant.

''Send me the outlines tonight. I'm on my way home to the hotel.'' Gideon replied, and then got into his car.

--------

Jodie got a text from Alice as she walked home to their rental apartment.

"Jodie, my boss, called, and he doesn't want you to come back tomorrow night; what happened?" Alice texted.

Jodie sighs and closes her eyes. She wishes she could have worked at the bar another night. But, hidden away, she was delighted because her story had been chosen by a well-known publishing company in New York.

As Gideon was getting into his car, he observed the girl walking down the street by herself. He immediately noticed it because he remembered what had happened before he could leave the bar. He'd been thinking a lot about this girl, the waitress, who'd been missing after the incident.
