"Oh about that, you saw Gonzalo earlier?" Fenris wiped his lips with a tissue when his mouth looked oily; it added more lusciousness to his lips though. It looks good. Why am I even thinking about that? Damn Kira!
"Ah... Gonzalo? Who's Gonzalo?"
He checked his phone before looking back at my eyes. "He's the one you bumped into a while ago. You're supposed to meet him today but something personal occurred to him so he told me that he'll just gonna come back here maybe tomorrow or the next day."
"I'm supposed to meet him?" I furrowed. "Why? What's gonna be his role in my transformation?"
He looked away. The movement of his adam's apple showed how he was hesitating to say something. Is there something I need to know that he's not saying?
"We'll talk about that tomorrow or some other time."
"Come on! I'm curious. Say it to me now." I frowned.
He slightly smiled even without his eyes moving; what a faked smile! "I'm still unsure about it so I'm gonna talk you through when I'm done thinking deeply, okay?"
I puffed a breath. "Fine!" I knew he wasn't gonna spoil me, no matter how hard I try to insist.
I had an afternoon class, around four PM to five PM, so I prepared my things before taking a bath. As always, Fenris drive me to school. Silence surrounded the car as my curiosity about Gonzalo was almost killing me.
Fenris stopped driving at the parking lot. I waved goodbye to him and he reminded me to be careful with Nazarus, but as I got out of the car, Naz was already standing in front of me, smiling like crazy.
"Naz." My heart flinched before closing the car door of Fenris.
I glanced at the shotgun window of the car that slowly opened and Fenris' head showed up with a glare, watching me and Naz.
"I've been waiting for you!" Naz wrapped his arm around my shoulder which made me stiffen. His strong perfume reminded me that he was a vampire. I squeezed my eyes closed. Why didn't I realize that I was hanging around with not normal human beings? Goodness!
I glanced at Fenris who was just sitting inside his car, watching us through the window. I could feel his eyes shooting dagger at me. I gulped.
"Didn't you receive my text? I asked you to come here earlier. I need a tutor in Chemistry." Naz playfully squeezed my shoulder.
I rolled my eyes. "You're smarter than me. What do you mean you need a tutor?" I shook my head, disbelieving.
I glanced at Fenris again when he still didn't drive the car away. He was just there, moving the muscles of his jaw. I even caught him gritting his teeth.
I swallowed deeply before looking at Naz. "Let's go to the library. We still have thirty minutes to spare." I pulled Naz's wrist away from the parking lot.
I would be extra careful around Naz but I really couldn't feel danger around him. I was positive he wouldn't hurt me. I wanted to ask him about his identity being a vampire but Fenris strictly informed me not to mention anything to Naz, that I should just act like I don't have any idea about his true form.
After a long day, Fenris picked me up, giving me another silent treatment in the car. Up until our dinner, he would barely talk to me.
Is he mad that I'm still talking to Naz? But I already cleared to him that Nazarus is just my friend and I couldn't just avoid him. After emptying his plate and champagne glass, he stood while I looked up, holding my fork with a piece of meat on it.
"I'll be back in an hour," he said while buttoning his white polo shirt.
"Where are you going?"
"I have a meeting with a friend." He shrugged.
"With Gonzalo?" I remembered the guy.
"With Nazarus." He groaned.
"Huh? You're friends with him? Wait--- Meeting? What meeting? For what?"
He went near me and tapped my head like a dog. "To clarify to him that you're mine. I'll be back in an hour," he informed me before leaving my mouth hanging in the dining area.
I shrugged, not making what he said a big deal. I just finished eating before going straight to my room, but then I got bored so I walked around the mansion. My steps brought me to the entertainment area, in front of the secret door. Part of me wanted to visit Vilka underground but my chest was pinching me terrified.
I puffed a breath until something pulled my heart, making me grasp into the air deeply. My chest squeezed itself so bad that I curled my body while my arms were hugging my stomach. My lips parted as my face felt distorting that my eyes watered in the tingling sensation of my nerves.
I wanted to shout in pain, but no words were coming out and it got me more frustrated. I walked towards the kitchen to get some water but my feet felt so heavy that I had to bump into the walls and sofa while reaching the kitchen area; one wrist grasping to the wall while the other was hugging my aching stomach.
I almost fell to the floor but luckily my shoulder dropped into the table. "Fuck!" My mouth echoed in the whole mansion.
"What's going on?" I could barely talk, catching my breath.
"Ah!" My ankle joints thumped so loud. I looked up as the hot tears fell on my cheeks. "What... the... fuck is going..." I was breathless.
I found myself almost crawling towards the garden. My feet brought me there and my mind was just shocked that I was already standing in front of the fountain.
"Ah fuck!" I almost lose balance when my knees felt like reversing like my bones almost went out of my skin. "Oh my God!" My face was flooding with tears.
I held one of my hands in the aisle of the mountain as I continued fighting not to fall to the floor. My body was shaking, seeing my nails slowly growing like claws; my raining eyeballs almost fall off as my muscles stretched like it was fucking growing and tearing my skin. I couldn't feel my organs anymore; all I could feel was the pain embroidered in my skin.
I continued catching my breath as I watched the fur start appearing on my muscles. "No... No... No!"
The next thing I knew, I found myself laying on the lawn, naked. My head was still spinning when I looked around, seeing my dress shred on the floor. "Kira!" I could barely move I just lay there, staring at the night sky until Fenris' face showed up. He was looking so worried while my eyes were almost closing in heaviness. My breath would often be off and then come back for a minute, then off again. "What happened, Kira?" He asked caressing my hair out of my face. I felt like I was staring at the stars through his eyes. Despite my weakening body and sight, I saw how light and beautiful his eyes were. "Kira!" I exhaled a large amount of breath before I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him down to me. My naked body felt the warmth of his skin but I didn't seem to mind. Finally, I felt safe. I was so scared a while ago and all I could think of was his name because I knew for a fact that I needed him. I squeezed my eyes close letting the excess tears fall on my cheeks, s
"Seriously?" My lips parted at him.He just nodded. I looked down on my lap as I played with my fingers. "Is that how you despise the idea of marrying me?" I thought we already established a good bond even just for the convenience thing. I couldn't blame him after all He never liked me. It was normal for him to desire to escape the responsibility he never wished for. I don't know why my heart is aching though, damnit. "I don't despise you, Kira." "You don't have to pretend. I see it." My lips thinned as I nodded. "I feel it." "Kira, it's not that..." He gasped. "I just thought if you could have a choice, you'd prefer someone else than me. You always pinpoint how short-tempered I am and Gonzalo, Gonzalo is more patient than me, more understanding, and more friendly." "As if it isn't obvious." I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, I know. That's what everyone says about us, anyway he offered us a proposal and I found it unfair if I wouldn't even let you have the chance to choose." I looked
My mouth was frozen in seconds until I blew a hard laugh. "I thought you have humour. Why didn't you get my joke?""Too bad, you're not joking." He rolled his eyes. My lips thinned. Is it that obvious? I shrugged, acting unbothered but I caught myself floating on cloud nine while I stare at his glittering gold eyes with his messy hair that he often stroked with his fingers. His oversized black tank top made him extra good, showing his perfectly masculine arms."See? You're distracted again." He smirked.I blink multiple times. I pinched my waist, gathering the right senses I should obtain right now. I was about to go on a battle; I shouldn't be floating like I was some kind of a butterfly."Can we just start? Shall we?" I puffed a breath."Sure, but first I'll give you the credits for arriving on time today. It's your first time not being late. Congrats, Kira." He offered his hand.I glared at it but then on I wanted to feel his big palm so I shook my hand with him until he gripped t
A few days passed and luckily, I was still seeing the sunshine and moonlight. Fenris didn't kill me but I could feel that he was still somehow considering my suggestion. Nonetheless, our routine has been the same for almost two weeks and my body was drained from our continuous training every single freaking day plus I didn't fail to attend my classes and he didn't fail to pick me up and drive me home from time to time. "Is Nazarus still sticking his ass around you?" He asked while his eyes were on the road, driving. His one elbow was resting on the aisle of the window while his other hand was on the steering wheel, looking so chill. "Not his ass," I answered sarcastically. Ever since the day that I punched him in the face and asked him to just kill me, I've been avoiding him. But since he was my driver when going to university, I have no escape. "I'm serious, Kira. Is he still hanging around with you?" His hand on the steering wheel tightened its grip. I leaned my face at the wind
My brows crossed with his question. All my life I had never felt something different in my senses. Weird feelings just started occurring to me when Vilka bit me; just like a while ago when my head twitched its veins and I saw bright lightening 'til my imagination went to Fenris and Nazarus' past. It was a wild guess that turned out to be factual. "Yes, I'm just an ordinary human 'till I met you." I was positively sure. "You're welcome," he sarcastically said. "But how come your guess was so accurate? Are you hiding something from me?" I chuckled in a sarcastic tone. "What am I gonna hide?" I shook my head. "Maybe I'm just good at guessing. I have read books about werewolves so my imagination played with me and I won." I stuck my tongue out, teasingly. "You're gonna let me win in our training; that's the deal." He rolled his eyes and shook his head before he continued eating. His brows were still kinda crossed like he was thinking deeply about something like he was analysing a math
They continued talking about the mystery happening around. They discussed some possibilities and presented theories about what could be the reason for everything. I puffed a breath, trying not to be intimidated by all the information I absorbed while being quiet. I stared at Vilka, knowing that she was no longer inside that wolf form. Whoever was controlling her was definitely a devil, perhaps it could be the Darkesta nor something more unexpected. "Anyway, are you sure it's okay to leave Vilka with you for the meantime?" Finally, Fenris' changed the topic. "We'll be in Texas for about two to three days. I can't postpone this any longer." He gasped as he glanced at me. "With all the mystery happening around, Kira and I need to get married as soon as possible to avoid more conflicts. I can't take the chance of her being stuck in a werewolf form like my sister. Now that she unexpectedly transformed once, it isn't impossible to happen again." His fingers stroke his messy brown hair. "W
My brows crossed as I sat properly though I leaned my body more on the shotgun door while my mind was gathering the defences I learned from our trainings. "You're joking, right?" I asked when he turned his gaze back at the road with his blue eyes turned back into golden brown. "You'll find out." He smirked. I punched his shoulder. "You're tripping!" "You're not sure about that." He chuckled more. I laughed as I shook my head, just feeling happy to see him smile and laugh more often than usual. "You're a good werewolf. You're not gonna eat me alive." "You believe that?" I nodded before relaxing my head back to the window. "I just hope you're gonna allow me to sleep. You woke me up so early." I frowned while my eyes were closed. "Fine," he uttered, making me smile before I fell asleep. We had been to multiple gas stations and stopovers just to eat or sometimes to take a rest. It was a long drive. We stopped the car somewhere that looks nowhere when we reached the middle of the
Dad laughed at my joke and told me they were just having a silly, normal conversation as a husband and wife. I shrugged it off. Maybe I was just overthinking.I asked my mom for my photo albums before Fenris and I came back into my room. We laughed and shared foolish jokes while we were scanning my old pictures; a good old memory."You don't have a picture of you when you were just a little dog?" I playfully asked. He glared at me. "There were still no cameras when I was a baby. It was centuries ago, Kira. Besides, werewolves still aren't allowed to take photos unless they're in their human forms."I nodded as we talked more about our childhood memories. This has been the longest conversation we had so far and I've never been so happy. After scanning all the old albums, we decided to lay on the bed to get some rest."You sure, you're okay with us sleeping in the same room and bed?" I asked, getting conscious while our arms were touching each other. My bed was smaller compared to the o
