03 Luo Jingli and Mr Li?

~The next day~

After Luo Jingli asked Mrs Wang who lived next door to help take care of his mother, he carried a backpack with some daily necessities and went to the mansion. Just as he rang the doorbell, he saw Aunt Deng coming out to fetch him.

"Aunt Deng, good morning!" Luo Jingli greeted her politely with a bashful smile.

"My dear, why did you come so early? Oh, come on in." Aunt Deng gasped in surprise, then she led him into the mansion.

"Good morning sir..." After Luo Jingli entered the door, he saw Li Zheng having breakfast at the dinner table and quickly bowed.

"No need to be so cautious. Here, this is the contract, you can take a look."

"Thank you..." Luo Jingli immediately stepped forward to take the contract and took a quick glance.

Here are some important points in the contract:

Party B’s working hours are from six in the morning to nine in the evening.

The monthly salary is two thousand dollars which will be transferred to his bank account on the last day of every month.

Party B needs to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner every day at 7 am, 2 pm, and 9 pm for Party A, unless under special circumstances, to which both parties have consent on.

Party B needs to clean the master bedroom, 2 guest rooms, and living room daily. He is not to enter the study room without permission.

If Party B needs to go to school after the school holiday ends, he must finish the remaining cleaning work after returning from school.

Party A: Li Zheng

Party B: Luo Jingli

"If you have any questions, you can just ask me now." Li Zheng said before continuing to eat his breakfast.

"There is no problem with the contract, thank you Mr. Li." Luo Jingli picked up the pen on the table after reading the contract and signed his name.

"Aunt Deng will still be here these few days, just ask her if you have any questions."

"Sir, would you like a cup of coffee?"

"Sure."

Luo Jingli slid into the kitchen immediately after hearing this, placed his bag in a small corner, and habitually made his favourite —— a cup of mocha.

"Sir, your coffee."

Li Zheng pursed his lips, but said nothing.

"Oh no! I forgot to ask him what he wanted to drink, and just made it based on my likings..." Luo Jingli couldn’t help but hold his forehead in his mind.

"Follow Aunt Deng to familiarize yourself with the environment, I'm going to work." Li Zheng said after drinking the mocha to the very last drop.

"My dear, sir only drinks hand brewed coffee, and he’d prefer not to add any sugar and milk to his coffee." Aunt Deng said to Luo Jingli after sending Li Zheng off.

"Ah? Then I just..." Luo Jingli was at a loss for a moment.

"It's okay, it's your first time here so you wouldn’t know. Sir won't blame you, just remember it next time."

Aunt Deng took Luo Jingli around the mansion and told Luo Jingli some of Li Zheng's habits and preferences. Luo Jingli took out a notebook and took down everything Aunt Deng said.

"This is your room. You will be living here during your stay." Aunt Deng took Luo Jingli to a room on the second floor and smiled as she introduced the room to him. Surprisingly, or not, the furniture inside were all white or black.

"Thank you Aunt Deng. Is there anything I need to do now?" Luo Jingli asked after putting his backpack by the bed.

"You can take a break in the morning. Then you can follow me and prepare lunch for sir before I teach you how to clean up the house."

"Ok, thank you." Luo Jingli thanked her with a bright smile.

Time flies quickly, and in a blink of an eye, a month has passed. Aunt Deng has left, and only Li Zheng and Luo Jingli were in the mansion. Luo Jingli was always efficient in the things he does, which makes Li Zheng very satisfied.

After another two months, Luo Jingli understood Lizheng more and more. However, with this increasing understanding, Luo Jingli slowly found that he was more conscious of Li Zheng’s views on him.

~March~

"Sir, welcome home." Seeing Li Zheng at the door, Luo Jingli bowed and greeted him politely.

"Hmn. Is dinner ready?" Li Zheng irritably pulled his tie, threw his briefcase and coat on the sofa before walking to the dining table.

"Yes, sir, please take your time." Luo Jingli brought out the dinner and obediently went back to the kitchen.

One month, two months passed. The more Luo Jingli stayed with Li Zheng, the more he couldn't help but feel his heartbeat increase every time he saw him. Every time he saw Li Zheng, he couldn't help but admire Li Zheng's beauty and perfection. But after that joy, what was left would be a greater sense of emptiness that filled his heart. He knew he shouldn't fantasize about these unrealistic things. Li Zheng only sees him as an employee, who can be replaced at any time. But he couldn't control his heart. The more he wanted to forget it, the more it stayed in his mind.

"Don't think about it, concentrate on your job first!" Luo Jingli scolded himself, then threw his thoughts at the back of his mind and began to clean the mansion as usual.

~April 25th~

That day, Luo Jingli had received a text message from Li Zheng, telling him not to prepare dinner. After getting this job, Luo Jingli rarely has free time at this time, so he quickly came up with a plan to pass his time. And right at the top of the list was to call Mrs Wang to ask about his mother's situation after dinner.

"Mrs Wang? This is Jingli. How have you been?”

“Ah ah hello Jingli. Yes I’ve been okay, just the usuals you know. You’ve called to ask about your mother, isn’t it?”

“Er yes Mrs Wang…”

“Hahaha don’t be shy, your mother is fine, but she is a little down lately. I think she misses you, so come back and visit your mother when you have time."

"Yes, I'll find time to go back and visit another day. Thank you, Mrs Wang. Have a nice evening." After that, Luo Jingli hung up the phone and went to sleep.

Luo Jingli was just about to fall asleep when he heard the sound of the doorbell. Cautiously, he tiptoed downstairs and opened the door, only to see a drunk Li Zheng standing at the door. He was taken aback but he quickly took Li Zheng’s briefcase from his hand and held it on his arm. Then he proceeded to help Li Zheng back to the master room.

Luo Jingli helped Li Zheng onto the bed in the room and turned to take out his pajamas from the closet.

"Sir, here are your… Ah!" Luo Jingli was about to turn around when he was scooped up by Li Zheng and thrown onto the bed.

Paralysed, Luo Jingli watched, with pale face and clammy hands, as the person in front of him removed their tie and shirt and climbed atop of him with heavy breath.

"Sir... sir! Wait! What are you... ah!" After slowly regaining his senses, Luo Jingli desperately tried to escape, to which Li Zheng furrowed his brow and reached out to grab Luo Jingli tightly, as his breath became heavier.

The next day, Luo Jingli was awakened by the pain in his lower half. He was dazed for a while, before confirming that Li Zheng was not awake. Then, he dragged his painful lower body and awkwardly stumbled out of the master room. After cleaning himself hastily, he went to prepare breakfast for Li Zheng.

When Li Zheng got up, it was already 9am. He stared at the blood stains on the quilt and the clothes scattered on the floor of the room for a while, furrowing his brow but did not say a word. After all, his former lovers would usually leave before the next morning, so he didn't take it seriously when he saw no one beside the bed.

As Li Zheng went downstairs, he frowned and rubbed his temples.

"Go and clean up the master bedroom." Li Zheng instructed when he saw Luo Jingli.

"Yes sir."

"What should I do… He…he didn’t find out?" A thousand thoughts raced through Luo Jingli’s head as he stared blankly at the blood stains on the quilt for a while, before hurrying to clean up the room.
