Chapter 4.5: The Not Meet-up

NATALIA

HARUKA KNEW SHE GOT ME REALLY EXCITED. If that friend of mine is flirty, then I'm even more flirtatious than her. Besides, if that agent is really HOT, then I can definitely enjoy wandering around the country because I'm with her.

Why? Because I will have an instant playmate. Ain’t it fun? Yey!

I ran to Dad's office and met my guards who were tailing me again, but I warned them not to follow. They complied and stood in the corner. Very good, boys.

I have four freaking guards. They were all tall and well-built, but in my mind, they were just my robots. My servants, assistants, lackey, etcetera. I am used to having bodyguards all the time. But why am I acting weird towards this new lady guard?

‘I’m just curious, that’s why.’ Yep! Right! I'm just really curious. Nothing more, nothing less. Let’s not overthink things here.

I reached Dad's office and walked past Jessa, Dad's secretary. I didn't knock; I just entered his office. Jessa even tried to stop me, but she couldn’t stop me.

I caught Dad crouched at his desk with a lot of papers piled on his table. Some are in his hands and reading it. He was so busy but I don’t care. I need him to answer my questions immediately.

"Dad!" I called his attention. I know he noticed that I'm in his office because I'm right in front of him.

"Yes, Sweetie?" he asked without even looking at me.

My bratty attitude is getting on my head again because of what he did. Whenever I am talking to him, I just want to have his full attention. So without thinking, I grabbed what he was reading and threw it on the floor.

"What the ---" he said, but he didn't continue what he was going to say as I picked up some of the papers and tore them in half.

"What were you going to say, Dad? Are you going to curse in front of your one precious daughter again? Are you going to let her uncorrupted ears hear your cussing? Are you going to do that, Dad? Huh?" I'm making him guilty. I know I am such a spoiled brat.

I saw him flash an angry look, but it immediately disappeared because I threatened him that I will tear the paper he was reading earlier.

"Natalia, that's too much! Don't do that!" he said in a low voice. Perhaps the paper I am holding is really important. My Dad looks so pissed. I am loving this.

"That's what you get when I'm talking to you and you're not giving me your full attention!" I punned.

"Fine. Fine. I'm sorry, sweetie. Just give me those papers because they are very important," he said in a calmer tone, but obviously, he was pissed off.

I threw the papers back on his desk and stood in front of him with my arms crossed. He struggled to arrange the papers.

"What do you need?" Daddy is obviously irritated by my actions, but I'm more irritated because he's not looking at me again.

"Look at me, Dad. Do you want me to throw away these papers again?" I threatened to touch the papers on his desk.

"Don't!" He stopped me from taking them, and he took a deep breath before looking at me. "Daughter, please let me know what you need. You have my full attention…" he said. I can see in his eyes that he looks so troubled even though his voice is calm.

I didn't care what his problem was because I knew it was about this country again. As usual, his priority is to be the father of this country rather than to be a father to me.

"Did you hire another guard for me?" I asked him with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes..." was his short answer. He sounded defeated. He was looking at me, but he was also glancing at the papers I almost ripped a while ago.

"Why?"

"For your safety."

"Is that your only reason, Dad? You're going to add my guards for that same reason? Don't you trust Piolo, Sam, Derek, and Zanjoe, Dad?" Yeah, that's the name of my four guards. "Those guys can even beat Arnold Schwarzenegger. Are they still not enough?"

"It's not like that, sweetie. Your lady guard is different. Even if she’s a woman, I strongly trust her that she can protect you," he said, still eyeing the papers on his front.

"Yeah right," I said in disbelief.

"She's different, sweetie. Trust me. Based on her records, she's even better compared to your four guards in terms of physical fighting. She has a lot of skills and is a sharpshooter. So if I were you, be kind to her because she will not hesitate to shoot you in the head…" he said, obviously joking, but I didn't buy it.

"How can you say that? And will you let her shoot me? How could you?" I asked, annoyed. I couldn't believe Dad had just said that.

"That was a joke, sweetie," he said as he approached me and put his arm around me. "So how's the tour around the country going? Hmm?"

When I heard that, my mood suddenly changed. Of course, I'm excited about this tour, so I have good vibes again.

I told him where we were planning on going, and he was just wide-eyed looking at me. Don't be surprised by my change of mood. I think I'm bipolar. But who cares? This is the real me.

"M-mindanao? W-why there?" He asked in shock.

"My four guards are there to keep us safe, and besides, that lady guard you just hired, you said, was really good, so you don't have to worry, Dad," I told him.

He became silent for a while before looking at me again. He is still fascinated by my itinerary. I was on my face watching him with my cutest smile.

"Okay but... but most of the places you have chosen for that tour, all of them are near seawater. I'm just concerned about your allergies. How about a European tour instead?"

"Daddy, no... I'm fed up with Europe, America, and other foreign places. This time I want to explore the area around here. You see, I'm twenty-one and the only place I've been to in Freelipinas is within this city. So I realized, why not go around the places around here and Dad..." I said, facing him and holding both hands. "It will help your reputation because I will be the one to do the advertisements in the tourist spots here in Freelipinas. It's more fun in the Freelipinas, right?" I said with a wide grin.

"Okay, sweetie…" He said, pinching my cheeks. Obviously, I was able to convince him. But even if he doesn't, he can't do anything because he has to just agree with my every decision. "Whatever you want to do, just be careful. Remember your allergies. Okay?" he added. I can see a trace of concern on his face.

"Yes, Daddy, I will," I said, hugging him. Even though I was very rude to my father, I still loved him dearly. He is the only family left to me.

"So can I meet this Agent July, Dad?" I asked him when we broke our hug.

"Uhh, Agent Mercado's not here yet, sweetie. She was here a while ago, but I'll introduce you to her when she comes back soon. She said she is just taking care of something at their agency..." Dad said.

I nodded in understanding. I don't know, but I'm feeling dismayed that I won't see her now, but why should I be? I don't know, but it's a pity. I was really dismayed.

'Hmm... just curious, huh?' Yes, I am just curious about her! I am crazy. I am fighting with myself again.

I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in!" said Dad, and he talked to his secretary, Jessa.

"Mr. President, you have a visitor," Jessa said, glancing at me. I just winked at her and I saw her blush. She turned my gaze to my father. I smirked at her bearing.

"Who, Jes?" Dad asked.

Jessa was also a beautiful and sexy secretary. Dad’s secretary’s style was nerdy. It's because she's wearing reading glasses instead of contacts, but it's something that makes her look sexier.

The real score between Jessa and me?

S-E-C-R-E-T! *grin*

"Agent Mercado," Jessa said.

Do you know that feeling that your heart skipped a beat because of excitement when you just heard their name? I just felt that! Oh my god... what is happening to me?

"Let them in, Jes…" Daddy commanded.

The secretary nodded and widened the door. On the other hand, I had my eyes glued to the door.

With so much excitement and so much pounding in my chest, I couldn’t understand why I was excitedly waiting for my lady guard to show up.

‘July…’ my mind spontaneously said her name.

The door creaked open and the agent entered.
