Chapter 6.5: The Breakfast

NATALIA

"BREAKFAST IS READY!" Kakay announced.

I looked at the two first with another bad look and stormed off to go to the dining room.

Isat next to Dad, who was sitting at the center chair. The others followed.

"Let's go, July baby," I heard Haruka say. She made July sit in Sofia's former seat.

Sofia sat down next to me, mumbling something under her breath. I was still giving them a death glare that the agent couldn't see because she was too busy flirting with Haruka.

Shit! Why am I like this? Why do I gnaw so much at what I see? Maybe, maybe, because Angelina Jolie prefers this "pretty raw Japanese lady" to my beauty? Ouch! I am even more beautiful than Haruka, but she chose her over me. Ugh!

My father noticed our attitude, so he spoke before we offered a prayer over the food.

"Kids, respect the food. Let's eat peacefully, okay? I don't want anything bad to happen at the dinner table," he warned, but we ignored him.

I'm sure Sofia was also mirroring what I was doing right now. These two friends of mine come here frequently because we treat each other like siblings, and they practically live here, but I guess I have to let go of one of my so-called siblings...

Wait ... what? Am I fucking jealous? Why should I be?

When Dad prayed for the food, I closed my eyes first out of respect. Actually, all of us at the table did just that. Of course, my obedient guards were standing in the corner of the dining room, added by Bruce and John Cena, who were Daddy's guards.

I was so annoyed while eating because Haruka was treating July like a baby. Haruka keeps feeding July like a child! I can see that the agent really enjoyed it. Pwe!

"Why are you visiting here so early, Haruring?" I asked rudely.

Haruka doesn't want us to call her by that name when in front of other people. Especially in the face of the people she likes. Haruka was embarrassed by that name, but because I was the one calling her by her pet name, she couldn't do anything. I really meant to embarrass her in front of July. Huh! Payback time.

I succeeded in getting Haruka’s attention. She widened her eyes at me while fakely smiling.

"I told you to never call me that name in front of other people," Haruka said with a fake smile and a bit of whispering, but it was so clear that we all still heard her.

"What? The Haruring? It was cute, actually," July replied.

"Ayiee, really?" Haruka asked, full of excitement.

Me? My fist just clenched from hearing them. Errr... The flirty agent complimented my bitchy friend.

"Why is she dining with us?" I raised my eyebrows at Dad.

"Who?" was his nonchalant answer.

"Her!" I pointed my spoon at the agent. "She's a maid, isn't she?" I said rudely.

"She's not really a maid, sweetie." Dad shrugged.

"But that's her cover. She must do her job. They'll know she's an agent and not a maid because you treat her evenly," I reasoned. I'm annoyed. Why?

"Natalia it's not like that ---"

"I think Ma'am Natalia's right, sir. I shouldn't be joining you here…" said the agent, who wiped her mouth with the table napkin and stood up when Dad spoke.

"You stay there, July," he said in his commanding tone. The agent stopped standing. Haruka was still holding July's hand.

I grunted. Sofia groaned.

"Natalia, be nice to July. She's not your ordinary lady guard. Except for the fact that I'm very grateful for her help in guarding you, I'm also very indebted to her family…" Dad said, emphatically.

I just rolled my eyes at the same time as I said, "Whatever."

Did I tell him to hire another guard? Didn’t I say I’m okay with my four guards? Pfft!

"I'm serious about this, Natalia. Be nice to her…" Dad's last threat to me.

I no longer answer. In my twenty-one years of existence, only now have I experienced being threatened by my father. Just now because this ‘agent’ is here. WTF?! Who does she think it is?

"Let's continue eating…" Dad ordered.

I followed, and once more I glared at the agent, who was now amused by me. I met her gaze, and she was the first to look away. I shook my head and continued eating.

‘Pft! She can’t even last in a staring contest,’ I insulted her in my mind.

Even though I had a quick crush on the agent, it was replaced by anger because my father favored her over me. They’ve got to be kidding me. It's only been a few days since Dad met her, but Dad took her side and scolded me. I wanted to puke!

We ate quietly while Haruka was still very sweet to the agent, who didn't look at me anymore. But I could not stop staring at her from time to time because she was so beautiful. Damn her!

I was playing with my food when someone's phone rang. It wasn't mine because I'm sure I left my phone in my room.

It was Sofia’s phone that was ringing. She answered it here and there.

"Oh yes, we'll continue. Yes. Wait for us in two hours. Yes, proceed with the instructions I gave you to do. Okay. Okay. Bye." Then she turned off the line and faced me. "We are leaving in two hours, Nat. We will use my family's private plane. Are you ready?"

My brain was still buffering a bit from what she said, but I came to my senses and suddenly stood up.

"Shit! Are we leaving now?"

"Words, Natalia. Words…" Dad replied.

"I'm sorry," I apologized.

Although I was rebellious and stubborn, Dad trained me not to cuss. But sometimes I can't stop saying bad words, and sometimes I only do that when he's not around.

"I haven't packed yet. I’ll head out first." I had completely forgotten that we were leaving today.was so overwhelmed with my dream last night that I really forgot what we were doing today. Hayyy... I'm mentally blocked.

"Leaving where?" I heard July ask.

Even with my back turned, I already knew her voice. I made sure to remember because I knew she would be my tough rival against my father.

‘Really? is that really the real reason?’ Yeah, brain, there’s no other reason!

I halt and then face my father. "Dad, look at that pet of yours. She doesn't even have an idea where her beautiful boss will go. What kind of bodyguard is that? Tsk. Tsk. A useless tool," I mockingly said, as I glanced once again at the agent. And she raised an eyebrow at me, but I quickly turned away.

I don't know how she reacted, and I don't care anymore. I mock who I want to mock. I will insult who I want to insult because I am the boss here and no one else. My father can’t intervene!

"Kakayyyy!!!" I shouted as I walked to my bedroom.

The maid sighed as she approached me. I don't know where on the continent the maid came from, but she approached me breathlessly.

I turned around and saw that my four guards had followed.

‘Eh, the maid in a beautiful costume didn’t follow?’

"I am here for you, Ma’am. What do you need?" Kakay asked.

"Help me pack. You know what I usually bring when I go out of town…" I ordered her and she was like a puppy, following me and walking back to my room. "Go ahead! My room is open!" I scolded.

"Yes, ma'am! Yes, ma'am!" She was quick to comply.

My four guards were still following like robots, with posture and all. I slowed down because I was wondering if the lady guard had caught up.

But I reached the front of my room and she was still not there. I motioned with my hands to my four guards to wait for me here outside, and they complied.

I counted 1–10 before entering my room. I am hoping that the lady guard will show up.

One… two...

Why didn't that agent follow?

Five... Six ...

Argh! And I don't think she intends to follow me here!

Nine ... Nine and one-half ...

Damn her! She needs to start watching and guarding me now! Where the hell is she?

And I even extended the count, but she’s still not here! The fucking agent!

TEN!

It's been a while since my counting stopped. Argh! I stomped my feet loudly due to frustration. I slammed the door with real force when I entered my room.

The wall frame hanging next to the door fell, but I didn't care even if it was a painting by Fernando Amorsolo that Dad bought at a very expensive price. I'm so not in the mood to think about other things. That agent infuriates me!
