There must have been three dozen huge cars all cluttering up the central square of the compound. Trucks were following too, rendering the peaceful fruit-tree covered cobbled paths a dusty, scalding hot car park.

As the dust cloud settled and figures started emerging the whispers soon began.

“The whole conference is here! The five other pack leaders!”

“I didn’t think that was due until winter?” Felix muttered under his breath.

“Look at Alpha Austin, he must have finally taken over from his father,” Matt whispered as a tall, handsome man with short blue hair and piercing blue eyes glanced around dismissively. Draped in gold chains he looked visibly unimpressed with white buildings that always charmed me.

“Oooh Luna Madeline! That gown…” Cherry cooed as a stately older lady, her movements stiff with poise and regal glamour emerged. Her cat-like grey eyes scowled at the dust that immediately coated her heavy velvet gown. “I heard she is an expert in Dark Arts, like seriously deadly.”
