CHAPTER 03

Alpha Riley

Damn. She was all of those definitions of beautiful. The golden stray of the light gently touches the strands of her ash-red hair and forbids me if I admit it was the most beautiful reflected light that I have seen.

She’s my type, that’s why she’s dangerous.

If only her beauty wasn’t intoxicating enough to make me want to kill her. She’s dangerous, Riley. My mind is trying to talk out of me as I stare at her small face.

Just when I decided to kill her life, here she is showing in front of me with her unusual dress. At some part earlier, I wanted for her to not show up in this tree. I don’t want to kill her but I needed to. I needed to grip on my morals, my principle, and my oath.

We’ve come this far. I’ve come this far to not let a mere woman ruin everything for me.

“ Funny seeing you around here again, Alpha,” she said without even tilting her head. It must be my presence, right? Because there is no way that she will know that it was me if she was busy looking below her.

Her dress is white in color but the funny thing is, it looks so grandeur for someone who just lurks around the most dangerous part of this world. Her ash red hair seems to have found a new style for this very day; it was freely flowing over her slender shoulders like it has its own will to live.

She chuckles and forbids me for her voice really made me want to own her right now. My sinful thoughts flashed before my eyes. The idea of owning her makes me hot. Her sultry voice will sound so fucking good as I bit her neck and plunge my throbbing need inside of her. I wonder if she can take my beast.

“It looks like we’ll be seeing around that often,” she muttered, unaware that I am thinking about what my beast can do for her.

I gulped and almost lost my balance into this tree just before I see her tilt her head and welcome my dark gaze. Her eyes and stare are enough for me to grip every courage and discipline inside of me.

Kill her.

I must kill her to stop all of this bullshit.

“Not when you’re dead.”

Her small body shudders. It shudders out of fear and up until now, I never realize how much I love the smell of fear now that I smell it from her. The shuddering of her little body washed some emotion inside of me. It’s the thought of her underneath my body, squirming and getting out of my hold. Her fear intoxicating my nostrils as she desperately gasps for air, but willingly received what I will give her.

I needed to chuckle to myself to wake myself up from the reality of what I needed to do. I needed to kill her.

Work for it, Riley. We needed to kill this girl in order to live.

Everyone who meet my pistol only did one thing. They either beg for me to let them live a little or they will try to fight and run for their lives.

This girl not only makes my body hot, but it made my mind pique interest for her. Something that never happened unless it’s a transaction that I failed.

She didn’t move or beg. It’s like she loves the feeling of the tip of my pistol into the side of her head.

“You’re not afraid to die.” It wasn’t a question, but a statement.

She replied with a silence that only piqued my interest. I hold the barrel firm into her head, trying to knock some sense into her mind.

Run. I wanted her to run or beg for her life.

But she didn’t. Instead, she only hummed in her most gentle voice.

“Dying is a better option for me, Alpha. Please do the honor and pull the trigger. Your bullet will surely kill me, right?”

I was stunned. No. Stunned is a hollow word to define what I felt when I heard her response. There is a question of assurance in her voice.

A question of assurance for her to get killed.

What the fuck?

I chuckle to myself out of disbelief. If this woman is playing with me, I needed to kill her, but killing her means that I fulfill her wish to be killed.

Instinctively, I pull down the pistol and looked at her. Assess her. Is she going to run away? But she didn’t.

Instead, she laughed. The kind of laugh where it was too sad and lonely. How can someone laugh and have the muscles in her face stretch with a drip of loneliness in her tone?

“I thought I will get killed,” she continue to laugh, and I was just stunned watching her laugh at her circumstances.

Thoughts circle around my head. Is she insane?

I shrugged those thoughts away and close the space between us. “Are you mentally uhm..challenged?”

Those words came out as a joke for her. She laughed harder and I don’t know what to do. It’s the first time that I’ve met someone like her.

“Am I?” she challenged my words with another question.

After a long minute of silence, I saw her getting up and preparing to go away, but I held her hand, causing her to look at me.

Just look at me with a form of amusement dancing over her eyes. I never thought that I will meet someone who never desires me or for my power.

It’s always been a woman begging in her knees and will take everything from me in an exchange for her position in my life.

This woman is always the first.

“I needed to go, alpha,” she chuckles and tapped my cheeks.

Her smile grows wide as I did nothing with her actions. It's almost like she’s testing my patience and damn, I’m falling for it.

This is bewitching.

No one should do this to me, but I allowed her to. Fucking allowed her to lean down and place a kiss right on my lips. Those lips that I’ve dreamed of tasting felt like a kiss of power. The adrenaline every damn time of my success almost tastes like her lips.

She didn’t pull away but instead, I gripped her nape and pull her harder, crashing her lips into mine until she didn’t have a choice but to hit my chest and ask for permission to breathe.

Her lips are moist and swollen, however her eyes are happy.

“Train me,” she muttered against our lips. Our eyes met, and I saw the pleading, desperation, and need in her eyes.

I felt dumb with her words. “Train you?” I replied, confused.

She nodded and claimed my lips one more time. “Please train me to be like you. I wanted to be like you, alpha. Train me,” she muttered.
