Doctors' Investigation

Heather was working with her father, which wasn’t a pleasant task. She’d made it clear to him she was happy, and she wouldn’t talk to him about her life or life choices. She was here to help assist him in identifying the bodies only.

That didn’t make for an easy work environment. He’d found a woman to man his office once she was gone. He wouldn’t stop muttering about how much trouble she gave him because he had to search for her. She’d forced him to close his practice for several days while they searched for her selfish person.

One thing he never mentioned was him being afraid she was injured or dead. “Father, stop talking. I’m not interested in how you were inconvenienced or how much difficulty you endured looking for me. Your own words tell me far more about you that my actions being wrong. In fact, your words tell me I made the correct decision not to return. You can stuff your hurt feelings in the trash. Because only you care about them.”
