10. She's more of a villain

At the Golden Plaza Hotel…

The mere audition for the movie was already considered as a success as many actors and actresses lined up vying for the lead characters. Both A and B-listed actresses were there to audition, hoping to be the lucky one. They were patiently waiting for their turn just to make sure they were casted.

For Winnie Lou, she thought that they were just wasting their time. The audition was just like a promotional activity as the main characters were already decided. Just like the lead actress, it was already decided that she'll take the role. The audition was just the formalities.

The Lou Group invested in this movie with the intention of giving her the lead role. Of course, it was all because the president of the Lou Group was her father. At first, the director didn't agree because Winnie's capabilities hadn't proved anything. But with just a snap of her dad's fingers, the director changed his mind. There's nothing in this world that couldn't be bought with money. Money, not love, makes the world go round.

Though she was already casted, the production team requested for her to be on the audition. But withstanding the result of it, she'll take up the lead character role. Though she's new to acting, she was a famous model. So the production team thought that it's already a win-win decision.

Upon reaching the site for the audition, she was directly led to the dressing room where she would wait for her turn to go onstage, escaping the long line of the auditionees.

The girls look at her with envy and jealousy. Everybody felt that she's not someone to be trifled with. No one would want to go against her as it seemed that she had a strong backing.

Winnie was full of confidence. She knew no one would attempt to fight against her. Even if someone already knew about the arrangement of the female lead role being given to her, no one would dare to speak up. No one would have the courage to expose her.

The actors and actresses went to audition one by one. All of them tried to impress the judges but no one could. It's either they weren't impressed at all or even if they were impressed, they already knew who was chosen for the lead roles. So they just end up getting the supporting roles.

Meanwhile, Jacyn came to the audition venue. It was already late but the people in line for the audition were still long. She observed each auditionee who was at the end of the line. It was getting late, and everyone was already getting anxious. They were on the verge of giving up. She's about to ignore them when someone from the crowd captured her attention. Her eyes shone brightly as she approached her.

In the audition area, the judges looked bored and uninterested until the emcee announced the next auditionee.

"Next is Miss Winnie Lou," the emcee announced excitedly.

"Hi everyone! I'm Winnie Lou." She flashed a charming smile to everyone as she went on stage. Winnie Lou was pretty indeed. She wouldn't be a model, a famous model in fact, if she didn't have the looks and the body. She's a hot and sexy model who could seduce any man she wanted.

"Hello Miss Lou, beautiful as ever, huh? How are you?" The director asked her, his eyes wandering pervertedly on her body.

"I'm so excited and thankful for this chance of a lifetime, Director Zhang," she answered, giving him a knowing and flirtatious smile.

"I'm excited as well, Miss Lou. Show us what you've got and please give your best shot!" The director instructed, smiling widely at her. The partiality of the audition was gone as everyone tried to praise her as to curry favor to the daughter of the president of Lou Group.

Winnie Lou started her act. She chose the part where the female lead found out that her emperor husband betrayed her for a mistress. She found out that he was just using her to get the power. Now that he's already at the throne, he wanted her gone so that his mistress, his old lover, would be the empress.

Winnie Lou tried her best to act hurt and betrayed. She showed how she could easily cry. She cried so hard and asked the emperor to spare her life. She acted so pitifully, that anyone who was watching her felt like they wanted to embrace and pacify her. The emperor was long out of mercy to his empress. He drew his sword and stabbed her. Winnie acted as if she's holding the sword that was stabbed on her chest. She said incoherent words while gasping for air as she slowly fell to her death.

The judges clapped their hands exaggeratedly, as if they already found their lead female character. In fact, Winnie's acting was just average. There's nothing out of the ordinary, but among all the auditionees, it can be said that she's one of those who can perform just right.

"Very good, Miss Lou! As expected from the great beauty, you did very well." Director Zhang stood up while clapping, very pleased that he could shower her some praises. The other judges also give her a standing ovation as they look at each other with the same intent in their hearts.

"Director Zhang, our Miss Lou is the best. Don't you think she's the most fitted candidate for our female lead?" Ms. Qing of the Lou Group's PR Department, who's one of the judges, asked him knowingly. She was here not only as a representative of the company but to support Winnie Lou as instructed by her father, to make sure that nothing wrong would happen.

"Yes, Ms. Qing. Miss Lou should be our female lead. She's just exactly what I envisioned the female lead to be." The director said as he nodded in agreement.

"So let's now announce her as the female lead and we can wrap up this audition," Ms. Qing suggested and the director readily agreed.

"May we get the attention of everyone. This is Director Zhang and I would like to inform you that we're wrapping up the audition now because…" He was speaking on a microphone which could be heard on the speakers in the hallway where others were waiting for their turn. Upon hearing the announcement, everyone sighed in disappointment. "...we have already found our female lead!" He continued happily.

Unknown to them, Jacyn had watched everything that happened. Everything seemed to go the way she expected.

"And our female lead is…." There was silence before the director could announce her name. She got the chance to stand up in her seat at the back, and because of the silence in the whole area, all the people could only hear the clicking of her heels. She successfully got their attention as she went forward to where the Director was, with her assistant, Lin Zian, and another lady, in tow. She was walking gracefully and powerfully. Her mere presence was already asking for respect.

"And our female lead is no other than…" Director Zhang couldn't continue anymore as he looked at Jacyn who's approaching him with a look that daring him not to continue or else, all hell breaks loose. She's looking at him coldly.

"It seemed like there's some misunderstanding here, Director Zhang. Our Lou Group's not looking for someone like Winnie Lou to be our female lead. We think that she's more of a villain." Jacyn strongly said as she grabbed the microphone from the director.
