Grandmaster 1

Maybe she lost her memory, I mean, we should eat instead of turning this dinner into a puzzle solving showroom." Talkative Brenda said.

It was Brenda's turn to draw everyone's attention.

"What?" She asked innocently. "I just want to enjoy my meal and stop talking about dead people." The kid said in a somewhat rude tone.

"Have some respect, Brenda!" Mrs White scolded.

"Dahh, aight." She agreed stubbornly and continued her meal.

"I'll head upstairs." Announced Brant as he stood up from his chair.

"Why honey, you have barely touched your food. Don't you like it? I can ask the cook to make something different for you." Mrs White asked with genuine concern.

"Nah momma, I'm just tired." He said. "I said earlier that I had a hectic day right?"

"Ok, if you insist. Good night then."

"Sweet dreams momma." He kissed her on her forehead and headed upstairs.

"Did you find her?" Brant asked Randy, over the phone as soon as he got into his room.

Despite the fact that Mila made it clear that he should not go digging into her past, he still went ahead. There were a lot of things he had to get straight, especially why she hated him so much and wanted to kick him out of the company instead of teaming up with him as it were per  her birthright.

"Sir, I swept the arena, but there was nothing there.

****************

3 hours earlier.

She checked her watch again, it was past office hours already, but she still had a bunch of unopened files on her desk.

She wasn't stupid. The moment she decided to confront Brant, she knew that he'll want to find out everything about her. She was surprised though, that he did not do it earlier but rather today.

The last time she paid a visit to this company was a couple of weeks ago and she made sure everything about her coming was all set.

You cannot fight and win a battle  without knowing your enemy's strength.

She had taken enough time to survey him and know his in and out, including the time he'd walk out of the office.

She stood up from her desk and headed downstairs. Her car was still parked in front of the building.

It was a Subaru legacy, probably not as fancy as anyone would expect but it was just perfect for her.

"I hate these kinds of visits." She said as she got into her car. She did not have to turn around to notice that there was somebody behind or to confirm who it was. She knew his scent.

"Grand Master is not pleased." The voice said.

"I know, you do not have to remind me." She answered coldly and began driving.

The last thing she wanted was for some of the exiting employees to spot her talking with someone in the car, not that it could cause an issue though, but for precautionary motives.

"Do you want me to take care of him?" The voice asked.

"Dom, I am capable of handling that ant, thank you." Said Fabiola, aggressively.

"He tried assessing our database today." Dom said, unbothered about her attitude. They all knew that she had anger issues.

"I noticed that too Dom, and I took care of it." She said unenthusiastically, "and it's not him you should be worrying about, it is that stooge of his." She said as she continued driving.

"Randolph?" Dom asked. "I checked him, he seems dumb to me." Dom said.

Fabiola abruptly stepped on the brakes, causing a loud screeching sound as the tyres forcefully pulled the car to an abrupt halt.

She turned and stared at him for the first time since the 5 minute ride.

"How the hell are you still employed?" She asked in annoyance.

He just stared at her. "I guess I'm wrong again huh?"

"Fuck!" She inhaled sharply as she cursed out loud.

"He paints Randolph as an idiot, but trust me, he is far from being that."

Fabiola said, still with a frown but less aggressively.

"Do you want me to make him disappear?" Dom asked.

"Jeez, Dominique, No!" She yelled. "Infact, get out of my car." She ordered.

"What? Right here?"

"Yes! Get out !" She yelled again.

"I got your clothes." He handed her a bag with the clothes she had requested for earlier.

She shook her head. "Find, close the door."

She drove to a dark alley and parked. In less than a couple minutes, she was done changing.

Dom leaned on the car, with his back facing her, giving her privacy to change.

"Take care of this!" She tossed her work clothes to him. "Let's head back to the company." She ordered.

"Huh? But we just left." Dom protested in confusion.

"You drive." She tossed the car keys to him and walked around the car towards the passenger's seat, ignoring his question.

She instructed Dom to follow them discreetly from a distance, when she left some minutes later in Brant's car.

She knew what would happen if GrandMaster decided to take things in his own hands, Brant would be dead before anyone could say Jack Robinson.
