The Fight

Stacy started struggling to free herself, making petty noises as tears trailed down her face. Seeing a masked person wasn't what she expected or wanted again

"Stop," the person said and removed his mask. She gasped when she saw her CEO, Jason and immediately stopped her struggles. Jason released his grip from her as she held her mouth scared.

The thug from earlier passed them, still looking for her. The two stood still to avoid making noises that would attract the thug. After 5minutes straight, when it seems like the thug had gone far. Jason shifted from the girl and dipped his hands in his pants pocket as he heaved.

"I thought someone would have learnt her lessons after "such experience," He said, looking quite angry as he got rid of imaginary dust off his cloth.

"I didn't know when... Emmm... I thought I had more time... The work was..." She was still stuttering when he cut her off.

"Breath in and out, calm down" He assured. Stacy breathed in and out and suddenly became calm. Her face went down as she sniffed, cleaning her eyes.

"I'm so scared"suddenly a confused look appeared on her face as she turned Jason "and why are you here?" Her eyes lingered from his head to his feet.

"That's a story for another day, let's go home," He told her, pulling her out from there. He wore his mask again She stopped and stared at him "wait, where are we going to? Her voice trembled lowly.

"Miss, no time for questions, let's save you first" He pulled her to a corner. Getting to his car, he stopped. "I can sense someone here" he muttered inaudibly which sent shivers to Stacy's vein. "Act naturally and don't make a fuss"

"Stay still" Jason ordered Stacy, as the footsteps approached with a great speed indicating that the unknown was running towards them. Jason made a swift turn and instinctively grabbed the unknown's gun. Lo and behold, it was the thug that passed them earlier. Consumed with fear,Stacy made her way to the back of the car, distancing herself from them as she watched the fight.

With no delay, the thug punched him in the face to make him loosen his grip, but instead, Jason held the gun firmly and head-butted the thug causing some imbalance in the stamina of the thug, he rushed the thug who seem to be recovering from the head butt and landed some blows which the thug responded in kind. The fight was even at some point till Jason kicked his guts giving him an upper hand in the fight. The thug noticed the power shift and had to think fast and dirty. Immediately, the thug moved so quick to hit him, but he dodged it swiftly turning to him and landing a disastrous blow to the chin rendering the thug useless and beaten.

Stacy watched behind the car overwhelmed as her jaw dropped seeing how strong Jason is.

Jason approached her after knocking out the thug "Hey, Miss let's go." They went to the car and drove off immediately. During the ride, everywhere was damn quiet as no one made a noise.

Stacy began staring at Jason, she couldn't stop thinking. She doesn't even know what she's thinking?

"Miss, if you keep on staring at me like that, we might as well crash." He said turning to Stacy and back to the wheel as he kept on driving. Stacy faced downwards and started fidgeting with her fingers, she was seriously freaking out.

They came to a lonely route, he swiftly took a turn into it. After a few miles, he got to his building, pulled the car inside, came down and lazily dragged himself to the door.

"Hey," Stacy called. He turned and looked at her wondering why she called.

"Why were you at the scene? Why did you help me?" He heaved, opened the gate and moved in ignoring her completely. "I'm asking you a question, Mister." She sighed. There was this awkward silence everywhere until Jason spoke up.

"The name's Jason" he muttered as he stopped and turned to her.

"Ok, I was in the store too, but I left earlier. I was about to leave the area when I saw a guy looking at something keenly in the store. I followed his gaze and saw that he was staring at you. Seeing how he's dressed, anyone could tell that he's a thug. I waited behind to see what he wanted to do. When I saw him following you, I followed suit, but gently not to be noticed. I took another turn and hid. Then when you were about to cross, I dragged you in. Are you happy now?" He asked with knitted brows

"Why are there men after me? What have I done?" Stacy questioned shivering, facepalming herself.

"Shush, Miss" he sighed "All I would say is that that guy is obviously one of Stone's men."

"Stone? Stone!" Her eyes bulged. "That miserable thug." She began pacing around until she halted and turned with her left-fore finger, pointing at Jason

"Oh shitting me! what was I thinking following one of his prominent men? What was I thinking? You all are miserable" She yelled, holding her head like it wanted to burst open. She continued pacing round and round again, not knowing what to do. She couldn't hold her tears. She bent down and hugged her knees. Jason sighed and went closer to her "Get yourself together."

"Get myself together?" She flinched. "Come to think of it, why did you save me?... I heard back then, that you are a callous and dreadful criminal, who kills with no mercy. Why did you save me?" She yelled.

"Keep your mouth shut, Stacy" Having mentioned her name, Stacy stood up, staring at him confusedly. "So you know my name?

"So what?" He replied rudely. "For your information, I saved you cause I wanted to. However, I can just kill you now if you want" He moved away and got to the door. "So move your legs and get inside." He took a few steps away from the door and turned "Anyways, I have something to tell you... later" He informed and went inside leaving Stacy to her thoughts.

Stacy got scared immediately and rushed inside the building. She sighted him at the bar, gulping down some alcohol already. Moving to him, she took a seat beside him. Her eyes fixated on her fingers.

"T...hank you J...ason emm Moon? CEO" She called, trying to find a perfect name for him, snapping herself out of the thought, she began with her statement

"And I'm sorry, I was... just overreacting outside. I was scared" She apologized, fidgeting with her fingers.

Jason reached for a bottle of wine, popped it open and poured some into a tumbler. Passing it to her, he asked "care to drink?" Stacy nodded like a little child and took the tumbler, sipping the wine carefully.

"it's a bit alcoholic, I hope you can handle it?" He asked Stacy who was busy sipping the wine and licking her lower lip.

"Alcoholic? But Why is it too sweet?" She asked innocently.

"Some wine is like that, dummy" he replied with a chuckle at how innocence filled her face.

"Oooohhh, I see" she replied checking out the substance in the glass. Jason's face turned gloomy as he stared at Stacy's innocent face. It reminded him of the first time, he bought that wine and he bought it for Rose. That was Rose's favourite wine. Ever since the incident, he has been purchasing the wine in memory of Rose even though he doesn't take it. Whenever he's having a bad day and plans to drink himself to a stupor, seeing the wine alone weakens his plans. He checks on the wine every time and whenever it expires, he replaces it with a new one. He can't possibly get Rose off his mind. He loves Rose with all his heart.

"Emmm... J...ason? Jason Sir, CEO? Is anything the matter? Stacy asked very concernedly, having noticed his happy face turn into a gloomy one.

"Nothing and you can just call me Jason" He replied and stood up with his glass. He moved towards the television and sat on the couch over there.

"Why does she remind me of Rose every time? Argh!" he cursed under his breath. He tuned in to a news station and watched with keen interest.

*When will all these social vices and crimes stop?* A Newscaster asked someone who sat closer. It seems like a discussion between the both

*We need to fight for justice, nobody knows when it will stop, all those criminals should be hunted and punished severely* the person chipped in

*A woman has been murdered alongside the road. Rumours heard it that she was struggling with some group of men before she was brutally murdered* The Newscaster added.

"Human lives matter but those people are murderers, not humans... They are..." The show was interrupted as Jason became annoyed and switched off the television angrily. He stood up to leave for his room when he saw a staggering Stacy smiling at her glass cup.
