I woke up what seemed like a few hours later, the bright rays of sunlight forcing me to squint my eyes shut. I let out a small yawn, running my fingers through my hair before I stood up and walked to the window, pulling the curtains close.

There were loud chattering noises downstairs, like some kind of party was going on, but I was less curious, not like if it was something good they’ll invite me. Funny they did not even call for me to serve them; maybe Linda must’ve found a way to keep them away. I walked out of the room, heading to the kitchen to find some water to drink, since my throat felt completely dry.
