Jace showing up at my family’s cabin defeated the purpose of me driving up a week early in order to get away from him. Yeah, it was nice spending this alone time with my sister, but I could have done that at home and not up here in the middle of nowhere. I needed time to think about my future, and what I was going to do about Jace. His friends have hurt me worse than he ever did. At least he never called me a slut in front of a group of people or tried raping me.
