Book 3 - Ch. 177: Self-Defense

JUDE POV

I’m on the phone with Tito when Jace comes back into the room as though his ass is on fire. I called my friend and explained the situation, hoping that he had an idea on how to make this look better than what it does at the moment. It’s during the call that I begin to poke around the room and find a pistol in the top drawer. I’m not dumb enough to leave my prints on areas of the room where they shouldn't be, so I us my shirt to open the drawer, and bingo, there it was. Upon further inspection, I find a wooden baseball bat in a corner by a case with baseball paraphernalia. I find it hard to believe that Elias was a fan; it might have been left from the previous owner.

“Do you hear me, Jude?” Tito’s voice comes through the other end as I watch Jace climb up on a chair and yank down the camera in the corner.

“Yeah, I hear you, make it look like self-defense, got it.” I tell my guy as I watch Jace open up the back of the camera.
