The memorist i lost

When I woke up, I realized I was in the hospital. I immediately removed the dextrose from my hand and looked all around me while the nurses and doctors were busy. I suddenly felt a pain from my head, and I couldn’t understand why I didn’t remember anything about my personality.

Where am I? What am I doing here? And why do I feel like I’m not from here? Where do I live again?

As my mind wandered, I was suddenly approached by a nurse with a trace of astonishment on her face.

“Nǐ méishì ba xiānsheng wèishénme nǐ yāo tuō pútaotáng nǐ shēntǐ bú gòu hǎo.” She said, but I cringed because I could not understand the language she was speaking to me.

“Can you speak english?” The word suddenly came out of my mouth, so I was shocked, and I held in my mouth. The nurse smiled at me and nodded her head.

“Yes, I can. May I know your name, sir, and where do you leave, so we can contact your family.” She said, but I was so confused, and I just scratch the back of my head and my eyes were rolling in astonishment.

“My name? What's my name again? Wait, do you know where I live? Do you know what happened to me and why I'm here?” I asked her, but she just titled her head with a confused face.

“I think you need to have a CT scan because your brain may be affected and might you have a temporary amnesia. Wait, sir, I'll just call the doctor.” When she said that, she suddenly left while I was walking around, and I didn't realize that I had been out from the hospital. I still doubt whether I will go back inside or not because my mind is full of questions now.

So, I just kept walking until I reached the bus station. I paused for a moment and looked around. I sense that this is the first time I’ve stumbled upon this place, and it doesn’t seem like it’s the right place I should have gone. From my right, I noticed two women looking at me as their lips smiled. I looked at them from head to toe, but they didn't look like a bad people. So, I approached them and asked. “Where am I? What kind of place is this?” I was curious, and then they exchanged glances with each other, and they didn't seem to understand me because they were obviously confused of what to answer me.

“Tā zài shuō shénme? Tā shì wàiguó rén ma? Nǐ huì shuō yīngyǔ ma?” The woman whispered to her companion as they looked at me. They didn’t really seem to understand me, so I tried to talk to them again in an easier way.

“Is this Japan? South Korea? Taiwan? Thailand?” When I said that, their eyes seemed to twinkle, as if they now understood what I was telling them.

“No. China!” They responded that I was shocked once I looked up at the gigantic buildings around, as well as at every person walking around us.

So, I'm in China? Do I really live here? But why don't I understand them, and I don't speak their language very well? Could it be that I got lost and had an accident before I landed here? I was sailing in my mind when a woman approached me, and she put money in my hand at the same time, she also left immediately. I raised an eyebrow and looked at the money she handed me.

Why do I feel this way? I don't seem to be used to someone giving me money, and I feel guilty because I don't seem to be a homeless and penniless person.

Despite my surprise, I suddenly felt hungry, so instead of returning the money to the woman, I just bought it something to eat. I went to the nearest convenience store and I didn't realize that I had already filled my grocery basket and I also had no idea how much this money worth and how much food I could buy with this.

“Zǒnggòng yìqiānwǔbǎi yuán xiānsheng.” The cashier said. I don't know what she was saying, but I just handed her the money and her eyes widened in shock when she saw the money I was handing her.

“This is my fee, take it because I'm already hungry.” I said, then she forced a smile on her lips and took the money in my hand. As I was looking out the window, she suddenly tapped me by the hand, so I immediately turned to her. I was shocked to see her handed me a piece of bread, that makes me confused. “Wait, this isn't what I paid for before, right? Why are you just giving me this?” I asked, and then she grinned and widened her eyes at me. In my fear, I just took the bread she was handing me and I frowned as I stepped out of there.

“Is she a scammer? Why did she just give this to me? Just because I don't remember anything she had to fooled on me?” I whispered to myself as I walked away and still stared at the convenience store cashier.

I finished the bread in less than five minutes. Furthermore, I wasn't even full, or it didn't even help my boiling stomach. I feel like I’m still hungry, and I feel like I’m craving a different kind of dish. Like Italian pasta, crab soup, seafoods, barbecue and pizza. As I was walking, I suddenly stopped when I smelled a fragrant and delicious smell. Using my sharp sense of smell, I followed that fragrant smell until I stumbled upon the front of a Chinese restaurant. I wasted no more time and I went in there right away. I sat in the empty seat and the waitress approached me right away and gave me a menu book. My eyes almost widened at every food displayed there, as if all the foods they had, there were delicious.

So, I immediately showed the waitress what I wanted to eat, and I didn't realize that my choices had increased so much that my entire table was almost filled with different kinds of food.

It was inevitable that some people around me would turn around and look at me. Some were just laughing and some were shaking as if they were vomiting at the amount of food in front of me.

“It's time to eat!” I slowly tasted every meal there. There are some that do not suit my taste and there are also some that I like because of its great taste. I almost didn’t realize I had finished all of them. I don’t know how long I haven’t eaten, or I’m just so picky about food?

After that, I asked for a paper to the waitress and ball pen. I critiqued every dish served to me earlier. I left a note and I rated each one depending on my taste. Then I turned around to look for the waitress earlier and to give her back her note pad and ball pen, but I noticed they were all busy working, so I just leave it on the table and also left.

When I came out, I first looked up at the sky and stretched out my two arms. I was very satisfied with their delicious food and the people there were very kind because they fed me for free. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant again and again.

Furthermore, I walked around again as I held my stomach. Not far from that restaurant, it was as if someone were calling me from behind. So stop and turn around. I noticed that it was the waitress while she was pointing at me, but I didn't expect that three men would suddenly come out there and chase me.

“Stop him!” Shout of a man dressed as chef. To my surprise, I immediately ran as three men chased me with knives.

I still thought they were kind, it looks like I was just mistaken in assuming them.

I just kept running, even though I didn’t know where I was going. The only important thing was that I could escape the men who were chasing me. I didn’t know every road in this area, so they still caught up with me, and I was stranded on a bridge.

As they got closer and closer to me, I went back and forth until I didn't notice that it was my last step because I fell on the bridge and I fell into the creek.

I don't know if I survived or if my life went to the brink of death more because I fell into deep water. On top of that, I couldn’t swim, so I couldn’t resist, and I gradually sank into the dark side of the water.

My eyes were still wide open as I watched the light above. I feel like that’s the last time I can see the beautiful light from under the water. But it seemed even brighter when someone jumped out of there, and she swam towards me. The light seemed to follow from behind her as she got closer and closer to me. Until she reached for my hand and pulled me up. I didn't see much of her face, but I felt that she was a good woman. I looked at our hand holding each other as a rope to save me.

As we swam up, I noticed something that seemed to have fallen from her. It is a necklace with engraved letters. “Lory?” The one on her pendant. “Then her name was Lory?” I whispered in my mind and I looked up at her again, where in chance she also looked at me.
