Chapter 30

Matt rushed inside the house, he also immediately went to his girlfriend's room but he didn't find anything.

His whole body was wet because of the heavy rain. Even the shoes he was wearing got water inside.

He hurriedly ran out of the restaurant so that he could meet the girl and explain before the misunderstanding between the two of them worsened.

He almost sat down on the floor and let out a deep breath. He felt the doubt in his chest and a great concern for him.

He tried to contact the girl, but she did not answer and the call was always cut off.

He wandered around the house as he waited for his bride to return.

He thought that he resented what he said and did earlier in the restaurant, which is why he did not answer his calls to him.

After a few moments, he saw the girl from across the gate. Head bowed and wet from the heavy rain.

The young man with an umbrella quickly approached it and sheltered the bride.

Furi stopped walking for a moment and lifted his head.

"Where are you from? I've been worried about you for a while, haven't I?" He said openly to the girl, but she just looked at him from head to toe and slapped him hard in the face.

The young man was surprised by what he did to him and unexpectedly raised his hand.

He looked at the girl nervously and only then did he notice her puffy eyes.

"Cheat! liar! heartless! you're so bad, you're so bad!" he repeated in his mouth, while he non-stop hit the young man in front of him in the chest.

Matt did nothing and just bowed his head. He momentarily let go of the umbrella he was carrying and grabbed both of the girl's hands.

"That's enough, Furi. Let's go inside." He responded gently but she only struggled with him and walked away.

The young man quickly turned around, with a line of anger on his forehead.

"Don't be stubborn, you'll get sick out here!" he said and took her hand again, but the girl just pushed him away.

"That's enough, Matt. I don't want to believe anything you say anymore. I've seen everything about you. You're worse than I thought." The bride strongly insisted to him, so the young man stepped closer to her with his two eyebrows meeting.

"What else do you want me to do? I was aware that you were there and you happened to cause trouble there earlier. You know, Furi? You only think about yourself. You only care about yourself. You think was I glad to see you there earlier, while they were judging you and looking at you? it hurts! I feel so much pain right now, do you know that? I can hardly breathe properly thinking about you. I'm a man but I almost kissed the ground in you made me feel ashamed earlier. My anger towards all of them is so full because I know you didn't mean it to happen earlier, but what did you do? You just made me look like a fool in front of all of them. Is it hard for you to ask an apology? Is it hard to explain to that cock of yours what mistakes you made, Furi?" he pointed out to the girl, while her tears fell from her eyes.

"You're right, my brain is narrow. I'm in a hurry and don't know how to think. I'm sorry if you just realized that I'm immature. I'm sorry if I was fragile and a burden to you. That's right everything you said. Maybe it's not the right time for me to get serious about things. We're both still young and have a lot to learn, besides. I'll just think of it as a lesson, for mine. So maybe it's better if he and I live together first." After the girl said, she just walked past him, but Matt stopped her for a moment and held her tightly by the arm.

He suddenly stopped walking and looked at the young man.

"What do you mean? we're going to break up? do you think so shallow of the relationship we've been together? are you just going to give up and let go? is that the only solution you can think of to run away from this problem?" Matt said to him, at the same time he pushed away the hand that was holding his arm.

"Yes, this is the only solution I can think of to end this problem. Why, Matt? Do you think I'm not struggling and hurting too? Do you think I'm still happy with the situation we have now? That's right, Matt. Our relationship is in ruins. As far as I can see now, the relationship between us is still blurry and we can get back together. If there's any other way to fix it, it's just plastic Matt. We're only fooling ourselves. let's go, won't we? So, I'll just accept it. Even if it hurts, that's all we can do." After saying that, he turned his back on the young man and went inside his room.

The door slammed loudly as Furi closed the door. Matt's gaze just followed him and caught his head.

Until he thought of entering the house and went to his room. He stopped for a moment in front of the door, while his mind was clear and he couldn't think about what he was going to do.

"Furi, let's talk first." He said as he kept knocking on the girl's door.

Meanwhile, Furi was lying on his bed with his head covered.

Tears flowed from his eyes one after the other and he trembled at the voice he had been hearing from outside his room.

"Furi! Get out of there first please! Let's talk about it!" he added and slammed the door hard.

After a while, the noise that he had been hearing suddenly disappeared.

He seemed curious and got up suddenly from his bed.

Did he leave? he whispered in his mind.

Hey, Furi. Just leave him alone. He repeated it to himself and appeared on his bed.

But for just a few moments, his conscience and thoughts again troubled him. So he thought of going to the opposite side of the door, to take a look at the situation outside.

He slowly opened the door. He only peeked slightly, as he looked around the outside of his room.

"Tsk! He's leaving too." After he said to himself in frustration and was about to close the door, he suddenly came out in shock when he realized that Matt was already lying on the floor and his whole body was shaking.

He touched her forehead and neck for a moment, he seemed to be burned by her burning fever.

"Matt! Matt, wake up! Matt!" he repeatedly shook the young man's shoulder but he eventually lost consciousness.

"Matt, wake up!" He scrambled out of his house and screamed for help from the neighbors.

But no matter what he screamed, no one could hear him. That's why he ran inside the room and frantically picked up his cell phone from the bed.

He tried to call Matt's family but was unable to reach them. Until he just called Nasher, the second thing that came to his mind.

Only a few minutes later, the young man came immediately and met her outside.

"Furi, are you okay? What happened?" he asked the girl when he noticed that she was anxious.

"Nash, you seem to have mercy. Help me take him to the hospital." After he said that, they immediately went inside. He found Matt lying on the floor and unconscious.

"Come on down, Furi. Just get me his jacket or whatever thick clothes he has, quick!" the girl immediately went to her room. It was his first time to go inside, so he was confused to find the clothes he was asking him to find.

"Furi, hurry up!" he heard Nasher shout from outside the room. Until he found his hoody jacket and pulled it out of the drawer.

He was about to leave when he heard something suddenly fall from the jacket pocket he was holding.

He picked it up and was shocked when he realized it was a wedding ring. He was stunned by what he saw and tears fell from the corners of his eyes.

"Furi, haven't you found anything yet?" he heard what the young man said to him again, so he immediately wiped the tears from his eyes and left his room.

"Here," he handed Matt's jacket to the young man.

"Help me here." He ordered him and carried the unconscious young man on his back. They went straight outside the house and got into his car, the girl followed him and quickly left that place.

Matt was rushed to the hospital. Tears continued to fall from the girl's eyes as Nasher supported her by the arm.

"Furi, just go upstairs. He will be fine." He softly indicated to the girl while resting his head on the young man's chest. Nasher seemed shocked and his eyes widened. He was just clinging to the long sleeves jacket he was wearing.

He stiffened like a stone just standing there and swallowed deeply in her saliva.

"F- Furi, let's go. Don't cry." He stammered, while his heart beat faster and faster.

"It's all my fault. If only I had listened to him, this wouldn't have happened to him now." He sobbed heavily and just bowed his head.

"I don't even know the whole story, but I think he understands you. So settle down, everything will be okay." He said with mixed concern for the girl.

After a few moments, Matt's mother suddenly came and hurried to them.

"Furi!" he called the girl. Furi quickly turned to the familiar voice he heard. He approached the lady and hugged her tightly.

"Auntie! It's Matt.." was the only thing he said while the lady stroked his hair down.

"Hold on, get up. Nothing bad is going to happen to Matt so just get up." He whispered to the girl.

Nasher watched the two silently, he just bowed his head and turned around, walking out of the hospital together.

The girl didn't seem to notice that he had left. Because her mind is confused and she only cares about her boyfriend.

They sat in the waiting area for a while. Somehow the weight he was feeling eased when he talked to the lady about what happened. He didn't get angry with her, but he even understood why they had to separate.

"You know, iha. I also went through what you are going through now when I was a girl. In fact, what I suffered was even worse with Matt's dad, that I almost wanted to curse him to heaven and hate him with so much anger." The lady said to the girl next to her and held her tightly in one hand.

"But, it's like they say. When you really love someone, you can easily forget the sin he did to you. Even if he hurts you again and again, you'll still accept and love him. That's true, but it's not I agree about that. Because true love, is not based on being a martyr. Sometimes, you also have to live for yourself. You don't have to pour all of your being into him. You are only human, hurt, make mistakes and loving. Whatever you and Matt decide, we're out of there, even the other people around you or even your own family. You have no right to stop you from whatever you want to do in life."

"I won't stop you from your decision, Furi. It's not because Matt is my son, but I understand you as a woman. But, if you just said that with your emotions, you can still think about it carefully. I'm sure that that's what Matt wants to convey to you as well. He loves you very much, you know that."

"Maybe he doesn't show it to you personally, but you know how important you are to him. I'm not telling you this now, to confuse you. Just follow what your heart really says and not the think about it." After the lady said, she hugged him again and stroked his back. It seems that Furi thought deeply about what he advised her, so she is thinking twice whether she will get back with Matt or not.

After a few moments, the doctor came out and approached the two of them. It brought the good news that the young man was fine and they could go inside.

The lady took him by the hand and pulled him inside Matt's room. Right after the two of them entered inside, the young man regained consciousness and opened his eyes.

"Mom?" was the first word out of his mouth when he saw his mother. The lady immediately approached him and held him by the hand.

"Matt, I'm your Mom. How are you feeling? Are you in any pain?" the lady asked him worriedly while helping him to sit down.

"Mom, Furi?" he openly asked him as his back leaned back.

"Si Furi? nand-" the lady was stunned for a moment when she turned behind her and noticed that the girl was not there.

"He was just here a while ago, I'll just call him." He said but the young man suddenly stopped him and held his hand.

"Ma' leave him alone for now. Maybe he wants to be alone and think."

"No, son. He was just here earlier and he even came in here with me."

"Mom." He spoke softly and emphatically to the lady, so she just kept quiet and sat down in front of him.

"Matt, can we just tell him the truth?"

"Mom?" he turned around with a line of doubt on his forehead.

"But, Matt you're only making the situation worse if you keep keeping secrets from him."

"Mom!" the tone of his voice almost increased and his two eyebrows met.

"I'm sorry, Mom." He suddenly recovered and let out a deep breath.

"I just don't want to add to the burden he feels. After what happened to the two of us, do you think he will still be able to understand our family's situation?"

"We consider Furi a family member, so he should know what happened to your father and why you have to work!"

A loud breaking glass suddenly grabbed their attention. Shocked, they turned to Furi who also seemed shocked by what he heard.

"What do you mean? Did something bad happen to uncle?" The trembling and shock of what he found out was obvious in his voice.

Matt couldn't speak and just avoided looking at the girl. Meanwhile, the lady stood up and approached him.

"Yes, Furi. He had a heart attack and his whole body was paralyzed." When he heard what the lady said, he almost covered his mouth and tears fell unconsciously.

"His dad was also comatose for a few months, so Matt sacrificed his own dreams just to help us with our daily expenses. I'm sorry, Furi, if we didn't let you know sooner. We just understand your condition and you also need to focus on your studies. We also don't want you to worry and add to your problem."

"Then what am I to you?" he said and the tears flowed from his eyes one after the other.

"Furi," said the lady, but suddenly she approached Matt and clenched her fist. The young man looked at him for a moment, but he immediately looked away and bowed.

"Why didn't you say? why didn't you let me know what happened to uncle?"

"For what else, if you also found out the truth?"

"Answer properly, Matt. This is your last chance to explain everything to me."

"What do you know? What else do you want to hear from me? Didn't Mama already tell you the reason? Are you that hard to understand?" he pointed out to the girl which made her even more angry. The lady seemed to want to stop them, but she chose not to interfere and left the room.

"That's the problem with you, Matt. You take everything to yourself. What am I to you if you take all your problems to yourself? How can I understand you if you don't want to tell me how you feel? or what what you've been through. Do you think I'm going to stop you from working and helping your family? Do you think I might change my opinion of you, if you sacrificed your own dreams? If that's how shallow you think of me, Matt. I mean , I'm not important to you either. I'm just your girlfriend and that's it." After he said that, he turned his back and was about to take a step when the young man suddenly stopped him and held him by the hand.

He just looked up and closed his eyes.

"Don't leave, please." He answered weakly, at the same time his head dropped to his eyes.

"Let me go." The girl said to him, but he just hugged her from behind and cried.

"I don't want to, don't leave me please. I love you so much, Furi. I can't live without you." The girl was moved by what she heard. She teared up even more and bit her lower lip.

"Said.. let me go." He said it again, but she didn't let him go and only tightened the hug.

"I don't want to, just stay here." It is stubborn to him. He wanted to drive the young man away, but he couldn't either. Her chest only tightens, when she thinks that she will break up with her boyfriend.

So she just gave up and let him hug her. He just stood there for a few minutes. They both apologized and wiped their tears from their eyes.

The girl hugged him tightly and Matt kissed his forehead. He also wiped the tears from the girl's face and kissed her on the lips. It seemed that the girl was shocked by what he did, but she also sent her feelings to the leap and responded to his kiss.

They both stopped for a moment with sweet smiles on their lips.

"I love you, Furi." He only whispered to the girl.

"I love you too, Matt." He responded and the young man kissed him on the forehead. He looked her in the eyes again and leaned against her chest.

Matt's condition has improved. Later he was released from the hospital and returned to their home. But first they didn't go straight to their house with Furi, but to the home he grew up in, where he grew up and lived with his parents. He was still with the bride and they went inside holding hands.

From the door, the young woman could feel the nervousness in her chest to see and see Matt's father's condition.

He stopped for a moment in front of the door, so the young man turned and looked at him.

"Furi, are you okay?" he asked curiously when he noticed that he was hesitant to go inside.

"I don't know but I'm nervous." He directed it weakly at the young man and he approached him and held his hand again.

"Don't worry, I'm always here by your side and Dad's condition is fine. So you don't have to worry." With what he said, he seemed to have convinced the girl too, but there was still fear and trepidation in his heart.

As the two of them walked to his room, he looked around the house. Because the materials used to kill people in that house are old and only antique items can be found inside.

Matt's childhood photos are also displayed in the ding-ding. That's why the smile on the girl's lips protruded a little.

However, that was soon recovered when the attention shifted to a picture, it was a family picture of her and Matt, where they took a picture with him as a new part of their family. She almost bowed her head and couldn't stop feeling sad, when she thought of what her boyfriend and his family had gone through.

A few moments later, they both reached the opposite side of his room. They stopped and looked at each other.

"Remember, don't ever cry in front of Dad. He doesn't want to see anyone crying because of him. He'll only be sad and weak, if you show him that you're weak. Do you understand?" he whispered to the girl and she just nodded her head. Matt's mom came out of the room for a moment and she approached the girl, holding both hands at the same time.

"Iha, go inside. He's waiting for you." The lady smiled and looked at Matt for a moment as if encouraging him to come inside.

After that, the mother and daughter left him while he entered the room. He slowly opened the door and went inside.

That room wasn't that big, so he immediately saw Matt's father sitting in a wheelchair, with his back to him and just a glance at the window.

He could hardly believe what he saw and he just covered his mouth. Tears welled up in his eyes but he stopped them from falling, as well as the mixed emotions he was feeling.

He seemed speechless when he discovered the condition of his body now. It was very different from what he was used to, which was still strong and energetic compared to his own parents.

He took a deep breath and wiped the tears from his eyes. He only strengthened his heart, so that he could approach him and face him.

He stepped closer to the gentleman. With every step he felt pain and sadness in his heart, as he got closer and closer to her.

When he got close behind him, he immediately greeted the gentleman with a tight hug. The gentleman seemed shocked and did not expect that the girl was behind him.

"I miss you, uncle." He said weakly to the gentleman and a smile appeared on his lips. He could not speak or tell the girl the words he wanted to say, but his face and eyes showed how happy he was to see the girl again.

He let go for a moment and went in front of her, sitting down at the same time. He held both of the gentleman's hands and smiled on his lips.

"You've lost a lot of weight, huh? Are you eating a lot? Don't starve yourself and just get stronger." He said and he bowed his head for a moment, while stopping the tears from falling in his eyes.

"Didn't you tell me before that you wanted to see me walk down the aisle and marry Matt? So you should get better and get stronger. Everyone is in a wheelchair at my wedding." He said the gentleman smiled at what he said.

"I'm sorry about this." He suddenly said as he hugged the gentleman tightly with tears in his eyes. The gentleman seemed to want to caress her from behind, but she was unable to lift her arms and seemed to be struggling.

Furi looked him in the eye again and noticed that there were also tears on the corner of his eye. So he just wiped it and drew a smile on his lips again.

"Don't worry, because I will wait for you to get stronger and walk again. There will be no wedding, as long as you are sitting in that wheel chair, is that all right?" he said and they both just smiled. A few moments later, Furi came out of the room. She saw her boyfriend just standing there outside and waiting for her.

They looked at each other and he approached the young man.

"I told you not to cry." Matt gently kissed the girl as he wiped the tears from her face.

Furi couldn't hold back and suddenly hugged him. He almost poured out all the sadness and weight he was feeling earlier when he saw the gentleman inside the room. It seemed like he wanted to cry in front of her, but he just stopped himself. He was just thinking about what Matt said to him, before he went inside so he was also able to control his feelings earlier inside.

Matt just caressed her back and tried to calm the girl down.

After a while, they both went to the living room and sat on the sofa. The girl's eyes are still puffy and there is a trace of sadness on her face.

The lady came out of the kitchen and placed the plate of bread on the table, at the same time she handed Furi a glass of orange juice.

"Calm yourself first and maybe you'll be fine." The lady spoke to him thoughtfully, so he accepted it and drank it immediately.

"Oh hey, you two can have a snack there first and I'll just cook our dinner." After saying that, he also left immediately and went back into the kitchen.

"Matt," he called weakly as she turned to him.

"Why, Furi?" he asked.

"Is aunt really okay? I mean, isn't she having a hard time taking care of uncle alone?" he asked with concern mixed in his voice. The young man glanced inside the kitchen for a moment, just watching the lady while she was busy cooking. Suddenly, Furi stood up and headed into the kitchen.

Matt seemed shocked with a look of surprise on his face, as he just followed her inside.

He saw that the girl suddenly hugged the lady's back. It seems that the lady did not expect that he would hug her, so she momentarily let go of the spoon she was holding.

"Auntie, I'm sorry if I was hasty with my decisions." He weakly indicated to the lady that she turned to him with a smile on her lips.

"That's fine, sometimes I'm the same way so I can understand how you feel now. But I can also say that you made the right decision, you don't have to be a martyr to someone if you're already hurting and struggling. So what no matter what your decisions are, I admire you. It's rare for women like you to be brave enough to face whatever problems you're going through. So don't worry, the important thing is that you're here and you're fine that's all between you and Matt." The lady gently yielded to him and he hugged the girl.

Matt seemed to smile at what he saw as he watched the two hug each other. That's why he stood up for a moment and headed inside the kitchen.

"What's that? Why don't you include me in that?" he said jokingly. The two turned to him but they just smiled at what he said. The young man approached them and hugged both of them.

"I love you, Mom." The word suddenly came out of the young man's lips, which is why the lady felt even more energized by what she heard.
