A vampire woman with long black hair and a white dress entered the stage. “Silence!” She hushed the crowd. She said it in a normal tone but her voice boomed through the ballroom, demanding attention.

“Another one of us has found their blood mate.” She continued and whispers went through the crowd. I stared at Alex and he looked back at me, not breaking eye contact.
