Chapter 1

~EUPHRASIA VYXANNA POV~

I stare at the glass window of the coffee shop as I take a sip of my coffee. Having no one else around was comforting and relaxing. The lavender and honey scent that was roaming inside the shop makes me feel like I'm home. It makes me want to hang out a little longer.

But I don't have time. I have to finish the templates for my clients. I take a bite of my french toast as I edit them. I waited for my friend Maddie as she said in the message earlier.

It was just 6:00 AM in the morning. So I still have time before going to work. I also signed the papers that my boss wanted to be signed last night so I have nothing to worry about.

I heard the coffee shop door being opened as I heard the bell ring. I didn't mind it and just kept editing.

As if on cue, my phone vibrated to reveal a text message from my co-worker Frey.

I just read what it said before focusing again at my work. It was already 6:30. Maddie wasn't answering my texts. Grabbing my left over coffee and toast, I left the coffee shop and took the folders and my laptop with me on the way to work.

It was just a walking distance away from the shop so I didn't mind. My phone again vibrated and it showed that Maddie was calling.

I quickly answered it to hear what she has to say.

"Hello?" I immediately ask and entered inside the company when I arrived.

"Hey, I just want to inform you that I'm not going to work." She informs me.

I heaved a sigh and nodded even though she can't see me.

"Okay. I'll just tell your leader you're sick so that he won't ask further questions." I answered. I already knew once she doesn't go to work.

She hummed at the other end of the line before saying goodbye. I hunged up the phone immediately and went to the elevator.

I pressed the floor to where my office was located. My eyebrow rose when the elevator opened again. I saw my co-worker Frey smile a little at me before getting inside. The elevator closes and we just stood there like statues.

Frey was a friend of mine since childhood. Also an ex-boyfriend so I don't usually pay attention to him whenever he talks to me. I just don't like being near him because I kept remembering the memories that I shared with him.

He was my first friend, first kiss, first crush, first love and the first guy to make love with me. It has been 5 years since we broke up and I don't have plans to be in a relationship again after what happened.

The only reason why we broke up was because he fell out of love. He said he didn't want me so I let him go. Instead of fighting for him to stay, I just let him.

The silence inside the elevator was deafening. All you can hear was the sound of the numbers switching.

It was not long before I felt an arm wrapping my waist. I knew who it was because he was the only one with me.

I removed his arm swiftly. And just looked at the numbers again.

The elevator dings when we arrived at the floor I pressed earlier. I headed out and went into my office. I walked along the hall with a stern look plastered on my face. I didn't mind the whispering and gossiping surrounding me.

I went inside my office and was about to close it when I saw a shoe of a man stopping it.

I was puzzled. I looked up and was met with his light grey eyes again.

I walked to my desk and let him in. I heard the door being closed so I set my laptop in my desk and put down the folders along with my hand bag.

I opened the curtains and just looked at the view outside. The skyscrapers and buildings looked beautiful along with the blue sky.

"Can we talk... Frasie?" He asks behind me.

I heaved a sigh. I knew that he wants to talk to me for the nth time. I looked at him who was standing in front of my desk.

I just looked at him and didn't answer his question that made him heaved a sigh.

I walked and stood in front of him. I saw the gloominess in his eyes. I knew he wanted to explain his side for years now. But I'm still coping up because of what happened.

"Speak. You have 60 minutes." I said sternly with a stern look not giving him any signs of emotion.

I took my phone that was inside my pocket and set the timer for 2 hours.

He heaved a sigh again before starting his speech.

"Look, I just want to say sorry and I was such a dick that time. I badly want to make it up to you love but you won't give me a chance so please let me love you again. Let me... Let me express my love and longing for you Mahal... You don't know how much I've been wanting to embrace you, feel you and kiss you again. I am really such a dick for letting you go. I was so wrong. I am already in love with the right person but I just wasted that love..." He stated as tears dwell up in his eyes.

I looked at the timer and it was just 15 minutes when he talked. I stopped the timer and looked at him. I wiped the tears that escaped from his eyes. He held my hand as soon as I touched his cheek.

We just looked at each other. I didn't mimick a word and I didn't show any signs of emotion that would satisfy him.

"You really were a dick that time... Mahal..." I answered him as I look at his shocked face.

I don't know if it's still right to give him a chance. But I'll observe him and maybe, he'll improve and...change for my sake.

"W-what did you just call me?" He asks before his breathing started to go heavy.

I caressed his cheek and didn't answer him but instead answer him with a kiss. A kiss that was full of longing and acceptance...
