Nikki POV We were in the cell block beneath the training center and I couldn’t believe my ears. Every time Alpha Hollis was questioned he would either completely deny the accusation, deflect the blame on someone else, or lobby accusations of his own. It was appalling to see his lack of conscience or remorse. What was worse was watching the Head Counselor practically lapping up Alpha Hollis’s every word. Nikki POV In our room Frankie wrapped his arms around my waist and asked me if I was feeling okay after everything that has happened. I told him it had been a whirlwind, but other than that I felt fine. I know he worries, but I am a good fighter and I always seem to have someone watching my back. This battle may be grueling and I have prepared myself physically for the challenge. Frankie POV All morning I thought of 100 reasons why I didn’t want Nikki to go into battle with us today. The bottom line is that I would never succeed in stopping her. Nikki POV The battle was almost over and we had done well, we were successful in defeating the rogues and freeing Rip Claw from their destructive forces. We had just killed the group of rogues that were trying to surmount an attack of Rin. The Alphas had surrounded Argos for the final showdown with Hollis’s Beta and Gamma and their heirs, with Torch and Eilif supporting their efforts. Nikki POV With the battle over and threats eliminated we could actually focus our attention on other things for a change. First up was a birthday celebration for Jonas. We decided that we wouldn’t go over the top for the day, but intimate friends and family only celebration followed by a pack run with Jonas’s wolf. But that is in two days and there are other things to focus on in the meantime. It also meant that Luna Fran and I would be digging in to plan Frankie’s Alpha ceremony and my Luna Ceremony. Nikki POV Today is Jonas’s birthday and of course the preparations are ostentatious and over the top, just like he is. The entire ceiling of the ballroom is filled with balloons and there are streamers and confetti everywhere, heavy on the red and black.
