“Fucking hell,” Ryan muttered, his arm extended above my shoulder, propped on the wall I was leaning on. He ran his other hand through his hair, frustrated.

I nodded, rounding off my take on what'd just transpired between me and Mummy Dearest in her office. My breaths were unsteady, I couldn't get her threats out of my head because I very well knew what she was capable of. Ryan had to act fast. He couldn't give in to his anger at this crucial time, and he knew it. Rubbing his face and shaking his head, his gaze moved between me and the school building. We were in my car, behind the biology lab, close to the student parking lot.

“But what the fuck, man. I told you not to follow me. that you could get dragged into this whole shit.”
