PROLOGUE

****PROLOGUE****

“Young Master, Please don’t do this. Please, don’t hurt her. She is pregnant and if your dad finds out about this, he is going to take serious action against you one more time," the head maid who is in her late forties begs.

Caden's eyes are filled with fury, watching her sit outside composed. He thinks she is pretending all of it and pretending to be an innocent irks him more.

How well can she act as if nothing happened?

The woman's eyes say it, she wishes he would stop causing trouble for his father and be a rather supportive son, but Caden has already sworn to be his father's nightmare.

He has promised himself to make sure that his mother's memories never leave the house and he is ready to deal with anyone who would try to interfere with his memories of his mother and him without his consent.

"Please don't do this young master, The boss wouldn't take it lightly and that naive girl is carrying a child inside of her, don't cause more problems," she tries to soothe him.

“Julie, do you care about her or me? You're just like the others. I Fuckin' do not care about whom you favour the most, and worse of all, I do not care about what that perverted old man thinks of me. He has already harmed me enough and I'm not scared of him, what more can he do?” he grits his teeth.

His eyes move to his hand which the maid is holding, seeing his intimidating look, the woman slowly lets go of his wrist.

By the look on his face, she knows that he wouldn't listen to her and will do as he pleases. Caden storms out with a wicked smile creeping on his face. He is going to gain pleasure from hurting her so bad.

He grabs the knob, opens the entrance door, and goes out to the garden to meet her.

She is sitting alone in the garden, her hands playing with the hem of her dress, her eyes staring at nowhere in particular. Her mind is long gone and she doesn't see Caden come out.

The head maid looks out at the garden where she is being seated. Julie's hand paws on the glasses with extreme worries.

“God, please! Give her more strength, please. She is still so innocent, having to put up with his harsh behaviour and knife-cutting words would only hurt her more," she prays for her though she is unable to do anything. She knows what Caden is like when someone interferes in his business.

His hands balls into fists as he approaches her.

The leaves from the trees are flying all over the place, with some dropping on the space on the bench. Her fingers pick the leaves, tearing them anxiously.

She is so lost and doesn't realize someone is close to her until he clasps her hands forcefully and makes her stand up in such a rough and disrespectful manner, pulling her along with him.

“Caden! What the hell are you doing?” she shouts as soon as she feels his hand around her wrist.

“We need to talk. I need you to give me answers right now, Esther. Quit the act because I'm not buying any of it. No emotional games, just tell me what I want to know,” he growls.

"Leave my hands, I will answer your questions." She struggles to free her wrist from his grip and it ends up with her getting bruises.

"Answer me truthfully how much did my old man pay you to be his sugar girl?” She winces in pain, his grip is getting tighter but he doesn't seem to be affected.

“What the hell are you talking about? Why are you saying such nonsense about me?"

Caden crosses the line when he called her sugar girl.

"Nonsense?" He asks back, "What about the shitty thing that you are doing right now? What do you want to say about it?” he twists her arms and makes her turn her back to him as he speaks beneath her neck.

“Caden! You’re hurting me. Leave me, please,” she pleads. The pain is becoming unbearable,

"Stop lying. You told me you would tell me everything. Just tell me how much my dad paid for you. Is it money? I am willing to pay you to double the amount or perhaps triple the amount you collected from him. I want you to stay away from my family, just disappear from my life you wretch," he says in a rage which hurts her to hell.

“You are misunderstanding everything, it's not like that. I-I...,"he stutters. She knows it would be hard to make him understand her, he isn't even willing to listen.

"I'm not ready to listen to your trash, just tell you your price and get the fuck out of our life bitch!" Caden already loses control over himself, his eyes are soaking wet and he wouldn't admit to ever being deeply affected by this woman.

“You’re hurting me, please." Her eyes were begging and he choose to ignore them. Droplets of tears roll down her cheek.

She isn’t the one what he is thinking about. He has misunderstood her and for no reason, she thinks that she needs to explain everything to him before he thinks too much negativity about her.

“You’ve hurt me more than anything else. Who the fuck are you to interfere in my family? Who the fuck are you to want to take the place of my mother? Who do you think you are, playing with my heart and then you walk away just as you please?" He feels like strangling her.

Caden already lost all the trust he had in her, she betrayed him and there was no way he would let her leave his life unharmed.

“Mother? No! How can I be your mother? I am of your age. I would never dare to think of being your mother. Your father has a wife, I would never get engaged to him. He is like a father to me. Why would you even think about me like that? And I have never hurt you,” she claims as the tears sparkle in her eyes.

Caden lets go of her hand, pushing her to the ground. In an attempt to guide her stomach, Esther places her hands over her stomach. She feels like her bones are cracked, having fallen to the ground like that.

She decides to quit the explanation, there would nothing she could say to him to make him calm.

Caden kneels in front of her, grabbing her jaw and forcing her face to meet up with his. She is unable to look away.

“I am warning you one more time, I wouldn't be this nice the next time we meet, stay away from my family, you have no place here. Just get lost, disappear from this country, disappear from my sight. You're already blacklisted, I am happy to announce to you that I now hate you more than I hate my father.

I will find you and make sure you beg for death if we have to meet again," He pushes her back, stand up, and walks away.

She tries to sit back up but couldn't. She is tired, tired of everything. Esther remains on the floor, crying her eyes out. There is no one she could cry to. No one to comfort her, when she thinks she has someone to lean on, life always made it worse, it has taken that person from her.

He once loved her, fell for her and was willing to fight anyone who would hurt but now he claims to hate her more than anything. He wants her to disappear from his life.

Who's she to him? Why does he hate her so much even after loving her a lot?
