60 || Confession

Seeing Lilian silent, Shane asked again without breaking eye contact, "Answer me. Have you ever regretted it?"

His tension mounted higher, the longer Lilian kept her mouth shut.

"I am asking you something. Have you?" Shane asked, desperate to get an answer.

"No. I haven't. Ever. Because I loved you as well. I was just afraid thinking it was one-sided." Lilian spoke up, her voice a little louder as if she was trying to hold it within but couldn’t.

Shane also got silent hearing her. His heart started beating faster as the realization dawned upon him.

Just because of their gap in communication, all this happened. They had already wasted so much time. So, though he was still angry with Lilian for many things, he couldn't ignore the fact that somewhere he was at fault as well.

So, without grieving on the past that couldn't be changed, he would like to start afresh. He didn't want Angel to go through any family trouble. She already had enough of this.
