With a deafening screech the headlights stopped, becoming dim before turning off completely. Once off, the vehicle responsible for them became visible, it was a black sedan. Three of its doors flung open as Charlie, Annie, Sarah and Haley sprinted out, launching themselves at Selena.

“You’re alive!!” Charlie cried as she wrapped her arms around her neck.

“We thought it was all over!” Sarah wiped her tears on Selena’s shoulder.

The three cried as they clung onto Selena, hugging her tight and showing no signs of letting go. Samson watched the scene unfold, closing his eyes with a small grin. He moved stiffly to the car and leaned against the hood, keeping his hand on his ribs.

It’s not so bad being on this side of it… Samson thought.
