** Yummy Restaurant **

" You kids should hurry up, we have to ensure everything is in place, we don't wanna make any mistake at all " The supervisor said to the workers, as he moved around supervising their works.

His eyes caught Layla, one of the attendants and winked at her while she looked away immediately.

A smirk played on his lips as he walked away.

" Can't believe he just addressed us as kids " Lila, one of the waitress hissed and the others chuckled.

" Hey, are you okay? " Mira tapped her friend, Layla, softly as they both arranged the luxurious chairs, placing them in order.

" Yeah " She mumbled under her breath but loud enough for her to hear.

" Is it about the fees? " She asked and Layla released a deep breath.

" Yeah, I'm just worried, If we're ever going to make enough money off this job that could be enough for the tution fees, tho the pay here is good, I just don't think working here for some few months could be enough, I think we need more jobs " Layla replied and Mira sighed.

" It's fine, we would find a way out " Mira assured and She nodded.

Mira and Layla had been friends since birth, they've become so close that people often regarded them as sisters as a result of their close intimacy.

They've become so close that they share each other's secrets. They both attended the same school right from prep, and even attended the same high school and graduated together, and are now planning to attend the same college to study the same course.

Together, they're striving hard to gather enough money that could be enough to pay their University tution fees, towards this, they got a job at a well-known and expensive restaurants as waitress and the pay is quite good.

Currently, the restaurant is preparing and getting ready to close as a wedding would be holding there that week. A well-known millionaire , Shane Kent, would be getting married to his fiancee.

He's a handsome and well-known business man, every ladies dream, he getting married sure made tons of ladies jealous of his fiancee.

" Layla " Miles, one of the servers called as he approached them and the girls turned to him.

" The supervisor seeks your attention " He said and Layla groaned mentally before nodding.

" Alright, I'll see him soon " She replied simply and he nodded before walking away.

" You haven't given him a reply yet? " Mira asked

" Hmm " She hummed in response, The supervisor actually asked her out to a date.

" So, what's gon' be your reply? " Mira asked and Layla groaned.

" Really?, I can't go on a date with him, he's older than me, and moreover, I ain't ready for a relationship now, I got lots of things on my head " Layla replied.

" He only asked you out on a date, not like he's asking you to be his girlfriend, and the last time I checked he's 24 " Mira said.

" I can't, I will politely turn him down " She replied and with that walked away.

_______

Layla walked into the supervisor's office and his lips crept into a smile as she stood in front of him.

" You're here " He said, with this flirtatious smile and Layla nodded slowly.

" So, I hope you've got a response for my request " He started and Layla nodded, with a light smile.

" Um.. Sir... I'm sorry.. but I can't " She said and his smile faded away slowly, as his eyebrows arose.

" Sorry? " He asked, unsure of what he heard.

" I can't sir " She replied politely

" Really? " He asked grinning loudly and Layla shook her head.

" You know what?... Is there anything you ever want?, House?, Cars?... , Name them all, I'll give them to you " He said, standing up and moving forward to Layla while she kept shifting backwards till her back hit the wall and he was almost into her, leaving no space between them and she could hardly breath, as their breath kept fanning against each other.

" I want you " He muttered into her ear and she gulped down into nothing.

He circled his hands round her face while she shivered on her spot, he continued trailing his hands down, till he got to her chest and she snapped out of her thoughts, she pushed him away with all her strength and he fell, collapsing to the desk, destroying it and Layla gasped in shock.

" Sir.. I didn't mean to... I was... "

" Leave! " He cut her off as he groaned in pain and she shook her head.

" No... sir, I was just... " She stuttered at the point of tears.

" Guards! " The supervisor called and they rushed in immediately to attend to him, while Layla stood aside, blaming herself.

The other workers had rushed in to, while some were glaring at Layla, wondering what she had done to the supervisor.

" Are you okay? " Mirah asked Layla and she nodded slowly.

_______

** Later in the night, 10pm **

" Gosh, I'm tired " Layla groaned as she closed the restaurant big gate, it was late already.

The supervisor had punished her by asking her to clean the restaurant alone in the night.

He was still in pains by the time he left for his home, and Layla wouldn't stop blaming herself for his condition.

She hopes he's okay.

She dust her hands and turned to leave but was startled as she saw a figure sitting by the gate, on the floor.

She couldn't see his face clearly but knew was a man, he wasn't looking okay and Layla moved back in fear.

" Sir, are you okay? " She asked, moving closer to him slowly.

The man stood up drunkenly.

" I need to sleep " He muttered, unsure of where he was.

Layla who was confused acknowledged him as a beggar who needed shelter.

" You need shelter? " She asked and he nodded.

Layla stared at his face and saw traces of tears on his face, he cried?.

She was suddenly full of pity for him as she thought he might have been roaming around the streets with no place to stay.

She looked around and thought of finding a place he could hide in the restaurant till the next morning.

" Gosh, I hope I don't get caught " She sighed, staring pitifully at the man in front of her, he was almost dozing off on his stand, his face was puffy and he looked miserable.

She opened the gate and guided him in, not minding the fact that he kept staggering.

She led him into the small house where the gateman stayed whenever the restaurant was open, but since they had closed, he wouldn't be returning until the wedding day.

She found a small bed and laid it properly before guiding him to the bed which he landed on and dozed off immediately, tears brimming from his face as he slept and Layla couldn't help but pity him, wondering what he might have gone through.

She sighed before covering him with a duvet and closed the door, without locking it and then walked out of the restaurant, before heading home.

________

** The next morning **

Layla was on her way to the restaurant, to check on the beggar she had left there yesternight, the restaurant was just some miles away from her apartment where she lives with Mirah.

She was afraid that the supervisor could come to the restaurant anytime and could find out she had hid someone in there.

She was finally inside, she rushed into the mini room and the door was wide open, he must have left.

She met no one inside and made to leave but her eyes caught a paper.

She took it and *THANKS* was written bodly on it, along with a cell phone number.

She smiled, glad that the beggar was okay.
