Chapter 6

Harrison Meet-Up

I TOOK a deep breath as I was finally stuck in the noon traffic that day.

Oh, Gosh. It's not rush hour and why are the cars moving so slowly on this part of the road?

Annoyed but I can't do anything. I sighed and placed my hand on my forehead waiting for the vehicle to move forward.

When I got through the traffic, I immediately accelerated my car. In my haste, I didn't notice a car backing up to a large establishment.

"Oh, shit..." I suddenly hit my brakes hard. I also closed my eyes when someone bumped in front of my car.

"My God... I'm late, I'm in trouble today! It's my bad luck today." I hit my forehead as I watched someone get out of the car I hit.

What trouble, Aurora. You are not driving carefully.

I also got down from my car. While the man in business attire had his back on me, I approached him.

"I'm really sorry,"

"Look what you have done to my car!" It is strongly stated. He gradually faced me. "You drive fast, you didn't even pay attention to the signal light—" he didn't finish his words as he turned to face me.

My mouth awe. He looked familiar to me. I bit that I could recover like him.

"I'm really sorry. I was in a hurry. Uhm," I looked at both of our cars where there was damage. "I'll take care of the damage that happened to your car. I will give you my business card so that—"

"No need, I can get my car fixed." There was a tone of annoyance in his voice.

"Uh—"

"Sir, ma'am," we both looked at a guard who approached us.

He just waved it off and said everything was fine. The guard went to his post again.

"I will cover the cost of repairing the—"

"Next time woman, be a responsible rider. No need to be in a hurry because you might hurt others even yourself. And did I tell you that I can manage my car?" he spoke seriously then turned me away.

I just looked when he left in front of me and went to his car.

'Hmph! I just tried to be sorry and I'm willing to pay for the damage I caused to his car, but what he did do? Gosh!' I whispered to myself.

"He is so familiar with me, where did I see him?"

I knew no one would answer my question so I took action and went back to my car. I drive again, but that time I make sure that I'm not in a hurry and that I'm on the right track.

When I arrived at the Harrison five-star exclusive hotel, I immediately went to the dine-in hotel. The crew assisted me. And when they know that I have an appointment with Mr. Dimson Harrison, they accompanied me to the table where the owner was sitting.

"Mr. Harrison?" I called an elderly man who was sitting and reading a newspaper.

He looked up when he saw me his eyes lit up. He stood up and faced me.

"So, you are Aurora Torres, am I right?" he asked me.

I nodded. "And also you are the business partner of my late father Raul, Sir?" I'm asking again because even though this is Daddy's friend and partner, I never met him before.

He smiled. "Yes, and your soon-to-be father-in-law. Nice meeting you, Aurora," he extended his hand in front of me.

I swallowed hard. So, he is aware of why I am here— for the merging of our company with their company.

"Uhm, I apologize if I'm late, Sir. I just got stuck in traffic."

"It's okay. I'm just here in a few minutes. So, sit down,"

I nodded. "Thank you,"

We both sat facing each other. The Old Man put down the newspaper he was holding.

"Our lunch will be served soon."

"I'm not hungry yet—"

"They will serve one of the dishes you eat. At least, try it. That's also one of your favorite dishes your father said."

My heart softened upon hearing it. "Thank you,"

"You are welcome." He took a deep breath and feel sad. "I'm sorry if neither I nor one of my family members attended your father's funeral. I want to visit her but I'm in another country and accompanied my wife to get treatment." I just nodded. "So, Aurora. I know, you are aware now what is your dad's plans and I, right?" I nodded again. "I know, you just came home from turning away from what your father wanted."

I swallowed and took a deep breath. "I want our property back, Sir. Even the house where my parents have lived since I was born," he nodded. "Spare it. That house is ours. I will pay if you don't agree." I strongly asked for our will.

"I can give it to you anytime, Aurora. But— what you want is not one of the options. That's not what your father and I agreed on. We have a different agreement."

I stared at it intently. "Yeah, of course, because what you want is for your children and me to marry each other."

"Exactly,"

"And it's against my will, maybe your son is also against what you want to happen, sir."

He nods. "Yes. But he has no choice. Because if he doesn't agree. He will not have one of all our property."

"Why?" I dare to ask him. "What is your valid reason that you want us to get married and tied to each other?"

He smiled slightly. "Raul is right. You have this kind of behavior, a stubborn one. Well, I know that your family is not greedy for the wealth of us Harrisons. I know your dad very well, that's why I helped him build up his company again. In return, you. You are what I want for my son. I know, it sounds weird but if you are truly a business-minded you will immediately know why, young lady."

"How can you tell that you think I'm not interested in your wealth? What if I am a digger? What if I steal your wealth through your son?" I talked to him according to what I wanted.

"I know, you are not like that. In the world, I live in. I know who will use it and who won't. As I told you, I am sure of all the decisions I make and plan."

"Then, okay. I once accepted the offer if I could talk to your son himself about the marriage that you and Daddy want to happen."

"Oh, you surprised me huh? Good, and don't worry," he peeked at the wristwatch. "My son will join us here right now."

"So, he is informed that I have this meeting with you?"

"No, he doesn't know anything." His short answer. "Oh, speaking— he's already here." I saw his eyes pass behind me."

"Dad,"

"Son," he stood up and I just saw a man approaching next to him.

My eyes saw black leather shoes. My eyes went up and passed his business suit until I saw his full complexion.

Suddenly my forehead furrowed, and so did the man staring at me. I was awed immediately.

"Aurora, this is my son, Damien..."
