I had been laying in the bed with my mate for over an hour as her breathing became even and slow deep breaths. Brushing a kiss to her forehead I pulled my arm out from under her head before I made my way, gathering up my shoes and coat on my way towards the door. I quietly slink down the hall and out the back of the pack house. Cracking my neck I prepared for the long run back to the Howl-Pack when I noticed a figure in the lawn lounge.

The only thing alerting me to the figure was the faint smell of cigarette smoke and the light at the end of the cigarette.

“What are you doing out here Kat? And if you keep smoking those, I will tell Mama on you.” I question her.

“Just thinking big brother.” She said putting out the smoke before lighting up another. One of the biggest signs that the thoughts she was thinking were not good thoughts.

“Kat? I don’t blame you. I am sorry if you thought I did.” I apo
