SIXTEEN: AUDACITY

“Give me my phone back!” I said and placed my palm forward for him to put the phone in my hand.

He raised a brow, “Your phone?” He pulled out something from his pocket and my eyes narrowed noticing that it was indeed my phone in his hand, “Are you talking about this?”

“Yes! Now give it back.”

He looked at the model as if examining it and then pushed it back in his pocket, “Better if it stays with me.”

“You can’t do that. That’s my phone.” I said and he sipped his tea, placed the cup on the glass center table with a clinking sound, and leaned his back on the sofa,

“I suggest you don’t use that tone with me, kitten. You are forgetting who I am.” He said, a small smile planted on his face, but his eyes told a different story. He looked angry.

I scratched my neck and lowered my voice, “I am sorry. But I need my phone."
