I shrugged and bit the cheese sandwich, “Nothing. Just curious.”Ana mildly nodded her head and gave a small smile, as if unsure of what to say. Once I was done eating breakfast, we strolled through the different parts of the mansion. She walked me through the beautiful garden that was so huge, FIFA World Cup could be organized there. But my attention kept wandering back to what I saw in my dreams. When we walked to one of the corridors, I looked at the first corridor that we didn’t take. I wanted to go there, but with Ana around, it was not possible. We passed a window when a crow was seen flying outside. My eyes widened when I realized it was the same crow—sorry raven that I had seen in my dreams. I could have mistaken it for any other crow, but it looked the same as the one in my dream.“Oh, these crows again.” Ana shook her head in annoyance and turned to me, “Can you please excuse me for a minute, miss? I would be right back.”“Yeah, sure. Go ahead.” I said with a smile and she d
Both Ana and I were shocked to find Dominic standing right in front of us. God knew how much of our conversation he listened to. His eyes turned down to Ana who was trembling as if she would die if she took a breath.“Leave.” He commanded her in a voice that hit me like a cold gust of wind and she quickly bowed her head and left me alone with the predator. Dominic’s face was serious, unlike the times when he usually had a sinister smile. But it wasn’t as hostile towards me as it was when he looked at others. He closed the door behind him and took a large stride towards me. I immediately backed away, feeling the edge of the bed on my lower back. His forehead creased at my action and he took another stride, closing the distance between us.“Are you alright?” His question threw me aback because I didn’t expect him to be calm when I had stepped into the mansion’s supposedly ‘forbidden zone.' I had thought he would lash out at me.“I am…not,” I said and his eyes subtly narrowed, catching th
I gritted my teeth and tried to wiggle out of his hold on my waist, but to no avail. His arms were stronger than my will to get away from his clutches. His eyes were narrowed, “I wonder how you are so hell-bent on trying when you know well that you can’t.”I snapped my head at him, snarling, “I am not yours to have. You have no right to keep me trapped like this.”“Trapped? I have given you enough freedom to roam around the mansion and garden. Some don’t even get that privilege or their heads grace the floors of my mansion. ” he said and I stopped my movement, the scene of the warrior falling lifeless on the ground flashed in front of my mental vision.“This is not freedom. I need to see my family. I need to go back to college so that I can speak with my friends. I need my phone back.” I said, hoping it would impact him somehow on considering my freedom.“And I will give you all of it when I can trust you enough to not run away,” he said with a stoic look on his chiseled face and I cou
I looked up at Dominic to find his eyes hooded under the shadow, yet I could feel the intensity of his gaze. He did not move his hand from the door and I pulled mine away from the knob, knowing it was useless to run now.I didn’t know he was this fast. He was like…sitting at the end of the table. He moved closer to me and his free hand snaked around my waist and I gasped when I felt him tug me towards his chest, “You can try running if you want. I won’t mind chasing a beautiful lady like you. But if I catch you…” his lips widened in a sinister smile and all the hair on the back of my neck stood in attention. He led me back to the table and I wanted to sit at the opposite end, but he made me sit just beside him. Before the butlers walked in, I did not realize there was another door in this room. The butlers held trays in their hands and placed the silverware domes on the table. One butler stood at the other end of the table and opened the domes for us to have a look at the dishes. My mo
My cheeks burnt scarlet at his words and after some prolonged silence between us, he let me go. I was about to push myself out of the table and settle on the chair, but he picked me up like I was some baby and brought my back to settle it.Once we were settled in, I looked straight at my plate and started to eat whatever my eyes found. I would even eat the plate, the cutlery, and the napkins at this point to avoid him.“Kitten.” His voice landed in my ear, making me aware of his presence close to me. I forgot he had pulled the chair closer to him and somehow after the small interaction we had on the table, the chair had moved even closer to where he sat.I slowly gazed up at him and found his fork with the lobster resting on its tips brought close to my lips. I sighed. He was not letting it go this time.I parted my lips to speak, but the fork penetrated the gap between my lips, and my tongue was already tasting the meat. Sweet, tender flesh slowly wrapped my mouth like a warm blanket
“Y-your eyes!” I said, my finger pointed at him, “Sexy, aren’t they?” He winked and whistled, I rolled my eyes, “I wasn’t talking about that. They are…red.” He didn’t look surprised by my reaction and looked at his nails and then back at me, “Are they?” and just within a few seconds, the red iris turned darker and faded to the black shade of his eyes. My jaw hung as I saw it transform like magic. “Are you by any chance, a vampire?” I said the first thing that came to my mind. But he didn’t have fangs like Damon Salvatore. He raised a brow, clearly amused by my wild guess, “Fortunately, not. What made you think I am?” I shrugged, “The books and tv series have vampires shown with red eyes.” “And you want to rely on the information given by the peasants who haven’t even seen a real mythical creature, let alone a vampire?” he asked and I had nothing to respond with, “Be careful from where you collect information, kitten. This world is vast and have more lies than truth.” A dark emot
It was not Shakes and Cakes. Rather it was some other cafe that I was not familiar with. Why did he bring me here? Dominic stepped out of the car first and then walked over to the passenger seat. He opened the car door for me and forwarded his hand. The gesture was sweet but I was not here to fall for his small antics. “Why did you bring me here?” I asked, glaring at him. He tilted his head slightly, a small smile on his lips. “I thought why not go for an unfamiliar place? It is something I like doing.” he moved closer to me and pushed a stray lock of hair behind my ear. The way he stared at me, my blood ran cold in fear. Did he figure out what I was trying to do? The small facade of the cafe was freshly painted in dark blue, with golden scripted letters flashing the signage “A Cup Of Joy”. Dominic pushed the transparent glass door open that made a jingling sound and as I stepped inside, a blanket of warm air touched my face and the smell of freshly brewed coffee wafted my nose.T
“I, unfortunately, am here and the service is terrible,” Dominic said as if it was his cafe. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was, because he was stinking rich.“My earnest apologies, Alpha Dark. If there is anything I can do to rectify the mistake?” the owner asked, his face paler in comparison to the cloudy, dark weather outside. He could feel the raw power Dominic exuded and the hairs on the back of my neck stood in attention.“Yes. Either close your business or be quicker when it comes to customers,” he said, his tone dipped in arrogance and his eyes staring at the two people as if they were dirt on his shoes.Suddenly, there was a light thud on the table and Dominic turned to my side. I realized that it was my hand that had made the sound to gain their attention. I took a deep breath,“I think the food was great and you guys did a great job. I would like to visit this place again.” I said, stretching the corner of my lips in a forced smile. I didn’t know why I did this, because the f
