EIGHTEEN: DREAM

My lips went dry with his words and my stomach started growling again like a beast. I heard his light chuckle and he moved away, “Eat, Avery. I am not letting you go.”

I was not sure if his last sentence meant the same thing about keeping me here or in general keeping me trapped with him. Either way, my mind was slowly turning hazy with the lack of food.

I gulped the saliva down my throat and walked back to the bed without any word. The dishes on the plate tempted me to gobble them all up in a go and I sat on the bed, ready with the cutlery to dive in. Dominic watched me eat, but I tried to concentrate on relishing the juices of the turkey.

He was right. The food was something worth eating.

I closed my eyes, to distract myself from his scrutiny on my lips and enjoyed chewing the food that slowly melted on my tongue. This was pure bliss!

Just then, I heard a small growl come from the other side and I opened my eyes to find him staring at my plate with narrow eyes.
