JANNET’S POVI did my best to refrain from shouting at dad. It was early in the morning and usually one saw their parents sleeping or awake drinking tea and reading Wilfair Daily. But I had to witness my naked father sleeping with another woman on the couch. I blinked furiously, “Where’s mom?” “I don’t know.” he scoffed, putting on his pants, “She came home late at night and looked drunk. She went upstairs and then nothing…” My eyes widened and giving Skylar a small look, I rushed upstairs. I reached mom’s room and tried the door knob. Fortunately, it was unlocked so I pushed it open and walked inside. The stale smell of alcohol and cigarette filled the room, making the bridge of my nose pinch in distaste. The room was dark due to the closed windows. I pushed the French window open and let the air and light enter the room. My eyes fell on the bed where mom slept, her hair sprawled all over the sheet, eyeliner smudging her eyes. I moved closer to her and smelled the alcohol. God.

JANNET’S POV I blinked, my hair sprawled on the bed. My heart skipped beats as I noticed his passionate gaze on me as he hovered on top of me. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer and his lips descended on mine. His warm lips molded perfectly against mine, devouring me as if he was parched for years. AVERY’S POVI sipped the hot tea from the cup while staring at the space. I was trying to contact Malphus but to no avail. Where did the raven go? I could hear the faint voice of Dominic from the other room as he was speaking on the phone. I brought the cup close to my lips when a growl tore the air, startling me.
