Chapter 7 - Tell me your age

Rosaline saw William as soon as she exited the bathroom.

He squinted at her as she made her way back. She only glanced at him, furrowed her beautiful brows, and ignored him.

Somehow, this made William smile. He walked up to her and tried to start a conversation.

“Hey, got a minute?”

“And may I ask why you would need it?”

Her voice was cold and held clear distance and indifference.

William felt awkward. He tried hard to understand why he was so bothered about the probability of her being underage. But he masked his emotions well.

“Well, I just want to say sorry and thank you.” He replied confidently without any awkwardness.

“It does not matter,” Rosaline said with a sigh.

“Can I ask you something rather inappropriate?” William decided to bite the bullet.

“Why would you ask if you already know it’s inappropriate?” Rosaline retorted with raised eyebrows.

“Maybe I’m just selfish.”

“...” Rosaline was speechless, and that made William smile.

“How old are you?” Rosaline could see the nervousness and expectation in his black eye under the dim light.

“Excuse me?” Rosaline frowned.

Before she could retort, she saw a pair of gray eyes staring daggers at her from behind William.

Rosaline leaned toward William, which surprised him a lot.

He got intoxicated by the faint scent of lemon coming off her. He was still in a daze when he heard Rosaline ask something which brought him back to earth.

Rosaline saw the grey eyes turn murderous when she leaned toward William. She questioned him with a smile that looked flirtatious from afar.

“Is that your ex behind you staring daggers at me? Big eyes, tall most likely 5’’4’, fair round face, sharp nose, plump lips, big breasts most likely c-cup, lean legs.”

She glanced at him and smiled. The faint smell of musk off him made her gulp, but she ignored it and focused on the troubles piling one after the other.

From afar, it looked like they were hugging and kissing when she turned her face at him.

William regained his senses and said, “Not sure about the breasts and legs, but that’s most likely Supriya.”

William smiled, held her waist, and turned her over, leaning towards her, their faces barely a few inches apart, which made their act somewhat real. Rosaline was flabbergasted.

‘What’s up with this group of people? How the hell did I offend them?

Rosaline cursed them in her mind, but she continued the act.

William felt amused by Rosaline’s suppressed rage and fake smile.

Having glanced at the girl while turning her over, he had confirmed her identity, so he continued before she lost her temper.

“Also, I don’t have any girlfriend or an ex. And yeah, she is Supriya.” William sighed, “I think you might be in trouble. I’m sorry.”

“Damn! Should have checked my horoscope before leaving the house”, Rosaline cursed, still maintaining her smile and ruse.

“Aren’t you going to let me go?” Rosaline asked as she realized she was still in his arms.

“Tell me your age?” William asked again.

Why the hell does it bother me so much? And why on earth do I want to continue holding her? William frowned internally but did not let her go.

“I don’t think that’s necessary. We might never see each other again.” Rosaline retorted.

“How about we make a deal? If we meet again, tell me your age.”, William bargained.

“Fine!” Rosaline said as she just wanted to cut the conversation short and leave.

William inched closer to her and tilted his head sideways, covering Supriya’s view. So, it looked like they were kissing.

Rosaline wanted to bite him for using her.

William’s smile became broader as he looked at her exasperated face.

Rosaline stepped on his feet heavily before she left without a backward glance after William let her go.

From the corner of his eyes, William looked at Supriya. Her face was burning red from rage.

He had a bad feeling about it.

He knew she might cause trouble for the underage girl. But this time, he vowed to settle all old and new accounts with her.
