Chapter 5

In addition to Joey Xiao, the shooting in Hainan also included his new agent Danny Cheng.

Joey Xiao and Danny Cheng are both known to be \"old school\". The atmosphere was quite rigid when they were confined in one place.

Danny Cheng still insists on making sure the shooting of the scenes was finished in the evening as scheduled.

On the way back to the hotel together, Joey Xiao broke the silence.

\"Something tells me James Fu\'s assistant wasn’t built for this job, am I right?\"

Danny Cheng’s face turned bright red.

Joey Xiao put his hands in his pocket, looking straight ahead. “You’ve been with James Fu for many years. He was so powerful and it’s obvious he can’t leave you. I do whatever I need to do, so you don’t have to look after me all the time.”

Hearing the subtext in his words, Danny wasn’t surprised.

Danny understood that Joey Xiao was a rational person. It actually made sense for him to leave tonight.

\"I\'ll leave you with Mr. Chen. He\'s your assistant agent. You can find him if you need anything.\"

Joey Xiao smiled and jokingly pointed to his head,.”I’ll think of something!”

\"Is there anything you want me to pass on to Mr. Fu?\"

Joey Xiao’s hands were on the doorknob, and he was about to open the door. He hesitated, and his face suddenly lit up in a smile.

  \"Is it your part-time job? James’s assistant?\"

Danny Cheng was serious. “He always appreciates any updates.”

\"Really, now.\" Joey sneered, swiped the card and opened the door. Just before he shut the door, he smiled and whispered theatrically, \"ask him to practice his skills.\"

Danny was silent as Joey shut the door in his face.

The next morning, before the sun came out, someone knocked on Joey Xiao’s door. It sounded urgent.

Joey weakly got out of bed. \"What was it?\"

Assistant agent Mr. Chen took a step backwards and reluctantly handed over some documents.

\"Mr. Xiao, the director informed MV that the story had changed, here was a new script.\"

Joey Xiao looked at it, and said \"Come in.\"

Little Mr. Chen was relieved, and went in and continued to explain.

\"It\'s still shooting as usual today. The script was new, and another actor will be flying in.\"

Joey Xiao scanned through the script, and looked at Mr. Chen.

\"And who was this new actor?\"

  \"Larry Lin.\"

Joey’s eyes blinked in surprise. What an irony!

What was this, a warning? A joke?

  Reminding him to lose interest.

Joey Xiao sighed, and stared blankly at him and said, \"I\'ll take a look at the script. Go back to rest.\"

Mr. Chen nodded and stepped out of the door.

Before shutting the door, he couldn\'t help looking at the man sitting on the sofa reading the script.

  \"Mr. Xiao, are you sad?\"

He looked up at him, as if he did not know what that word meant. Joey knew what Mr. Chen wanted to ask, but he still said nothing.

After all that, it has come true.

As long as money changes hands, does the script even matter? Was it even important which actor was playing which role?

As soon as he was out the door, he sent a message to James Fu.

“Mr. Fu, just a warning. I know.”
