Chapter 9

Late at night, James Fu came to the theatre to visit the team.

  But surprisingly, he wasn’t alone.

Joey Xiao could feel the tension as he faced the two persons who just came in.

He was breathing in the dark, deliberately ignoring everything that he sees and proceeded with the female colleague calmly.

\"Uncle, I haven\'t seen you in a long time.\" Larry Lin nestled beside James Fu, as he greeted Joey Xiao.

Joey Xiao was still immersed in the play at the moment, and it took him a few moments to register that Larry Lim had just greeted him.

Hearing Larry Lin talking, he briefly glanced at him and continued watching the play.

Larry Lin felt that Joey had deliberately embarrassed him for the public to see, and this made him furious. He wanted to attack Joey Xiao again, but he couldn’t, with James Fu around.

This time, he must behave in front of James Fu. He had been very disappointed with Larry for beating up Joey Xiao, it was too soon to cause any more trouble.

Larry took a deep breath, walked a few steps in front of Joey Xiao, in a half squat position.

“Uncle, are you still angry with me for what happened the last time? I’m sorry, I apologize for coming this time.” Larry Lin said with a pretense guilt.

Larry Lin looked around him, smiling but fuming inside.

This time Joey Xiao stared coldly at him and didn’t say a word.

“Uncle, I have bad acting skills which might affect you. Please forgive me.” Larry Lin said, and without warning, took his hands.

Revolted, Joey Xiao pushed him away. Larry Lin fell to the ground.

Joey Xiao has no sympathy at all. He said out loud, as though speaking to no one in particular, \"If I was aware that I was a poor actor, I would have worked on my humility so others could help me improve.\" He wheeled himself out.

Outside, James Fu caught up with him. “How’s your spine now?”

  “Still paralyzed.”

Joey Xiao moved to the Director’s chair and craned his neck towards Lawrence Chu to view the clips that had just been taken.

\"Yes, your acting skills are really the best. I’m pretty sure, the best male actor this year was going to be you!\" Lawrence Chu praised him, unaware of who had followed him there.

It was but natural for him to be proud of Joey. They’ve been friends for a really long time.

“Remember, your boss was still here.” Joey Xiao whispered to him.

\"It doesn\'t matter. They know their own shortcomings,\" Lawrence Chu said in a loud voice.

  Joey Xiao said nothing.

James Fu, merely watched the interaction between them, and refrained from saying anything.

Larry Lin came to them, and his red eyes indicated that he had been crying.

James Fu’s anger intensified as he watched Larry Lin crying.

He had no idea that in just a few days of being away from him, Joey had developed a temper.

Larry Lin noted the change in James Fu’s expression, he acted to make a good impression of his words.

“Jimmy, please don’t blame Uncle Joey, he has not recovered yet. He might be angry with me.”

James Fu looked at him coldly. \"Shut up.\"

Larry Lin’s eyes dropped to the floor.

James Fu, not leaving his eyes on Larry Lin, without showing pity, “You should leave.”

Larry Lin\'s eyelashes trembled, and a teardrop fell from the corner of his eye.

He tugged at James’s sleeve. “Please let me stay. I won’t make any trouble.”

James Fu calmly dragged Larry Lin away.
