A sigh escaped Evelyn's lips as she sat sprawled out on a couch in Damian's office, bored to death. Weeks had flown by in a pleasant blur. Things between Damian and her were getting better with each day. The only problem is, he was too busy. Sometimes he would disappear without so much as a word to Evelyn. Then he would come back covered in bruises and claim that even though he got rid of Zach, they were still people messing around with drugs. He told her it would be difficult to get rid of all of them. They would always arise as that is human nature. But he would be there to root them out every time. Tonight was no different, Damian had received a call from one of his men and now, he was busy cocking his guns at his desk, ready to leave for the next operation. He raised his head to give Evelyn a glance, he saw how she had her arms crossed over her chest and a pout on her mouth. Putting his pistol on the desk, he walked over to the couch and sat on the edge, looking down at
Evelyn and Nina sauntered into the women's clothing shop. Seeing how pricey the clothes were, Evelyn hesitated. Nina had a good eye when choosing clothes but she had expensive taste. The last thing Evelyn wanted to do was splurge on someone else’s account. "I think we should check other stores." She said to Nina who was happily picking dresses for her. "Why? This store has the best quality of clothes.” “But… I don’t want to waste Damian’s money. Everything is too expensive here.” Evelyn replied. “Damian gave you his limitless card, meaning you can spend as much as you want. He will feel bad if you refuse to spend his money." Nina said and picked a pair of blue jean shorts and a peach lace crop top. "Here, try this on. You have a lovely tiny waist, I believe this can look good on you." She pushed the two pieces of clothes into Evelyn's hands and pushed her towards the fitting room. Sighing, Evelyn reluctantly changed into the clothes but she had difficulty buttoning up t
Many years ago, Raymond Ressler and his best friend Noah Johnson were prosecutors at a private law firm. Together they worked hard to put criminals behind bars. Noah in particular didn't tolerate injustice. To him, no one was above the law. If a case was brought to him, it didn't matter if it was a congressman who had committed a crime. He would always do his best to ensure justice was served. However, there were certain individuals who thought they were above the law. Those who belonged to the crime group called the Mafia. These people committed crimes, and conducted illegal businesses but were still left to roam around freely because they were deemed dangerous. Noah thought it was ridiculous for a country governed by law to be ruled by criminals in secret. So when a client went to him with a case involving the Mafia, he put his all into it. Noah was threatened so many times to stop digging into issues that didn't concern him but he was stubborn and stood firm in his belief.
"I'll be out for two weeks. Make sure our rivals don't find out. The last thing we want is greedy people coming after the empire when I'm away." Damian said to Jack as they drove back to the club after completing another mission. "Don't worry, I'll keep the empire safe. You can trust me on that." Jack responded. He was referring to the territory. If their rivals knew that their leader was gone, they would start an uprising. Even though they both knew their men wouldn't betray them by pledging allegiance to the other Mafia, they still had to be careful. Not everyone has the willpower to withstand harsh torture methods. They would end up surrendering in no time and it would be difficult for Damian to take back control of his territory from the enemy's clutches so they had to keep his absence a secret. "Mmmm." Damian hummed a reply. He crossed his arms over his chest and laid his head back in the seat, thinking about his kitten. He couldn't help but wonder. What was she doing n
Evelyn stared at the two red lines that looked like they were glowing mockingly at her, her stomach churning in all kinds of ways. She felt unnerved. How could she be pregnant? Her heart was racing and her skin had turned pale. To say she was shocked would be an understatement. She was terrified. What would this discovery mean for her? Especially now that she had learned of the truth behind her parent’s death. When the doctor suggested she take a pregnancy test, she rejected the idea outright knowing she had been careful. It was only when the doctor told her the symptoms she was having suggested she was carrying that she decided to have a test to rule out pregnancy. Little did she know that she would be in for a shock. She fell pregnant at the moment when she had just discovered horrifying things about Damian and decided to leave him for good. Was life playing a joke on her? What kind of timing was this? Evelyn’s mind was awashed by different thoughts. This piece of news
Evelyn felt her heart skip a beat at Damian’s words. Although she knew she shouldn’t, she couldn’t help the jolt that shot straight to her core when he displayed his possessiveness. Was it wrong that she found this dominant side of him sexy? His fingers on her chin sent electrical currents through her body. “Am I clear, Kitten?” Damian asked huskily, rubbing his thumb on her slightly opened lips. Goodness, the move made her core throb with want. The feelings this devilishly handsome man evoked in her made her feel like a sinner to her parents. She was supposed to hate him, and be disgusted by him after learning the truth but why did she feel like asking him to pin her to the bed and fuck her senseless? ‘Stop it, Evelyn. Think of your parents.’ Evelyn thought to herself. She was snapped back to reality and felt like she had been thrown into an ice-cold river. What was she doing lusting after a man who was responsible for her parent’s death? What kind of daughter was she?
Nina had long left and Evelyn returned to being locked up alone in the room. Damian had offered to spend time with her but she turned him down outright. Seeing his face reminded her of the footage she had watched. She couldn’t help but picture him in that car that had delivered the final blow that killed her parents. There was just no way they could be together and since no one was willing to help her out, she was hatching a plan to escape. Of course, she knew that in her condition, she couldn’t risk her baby by climbing out the window. But she couldn’t pick the lock either because Damian had changed it to a digital one since he knew about her unusual skill. She also knew that he didn’t leave the house and worked from home so he definitely had his eyes on her. The only way she could escape is if she somehow placed a small object by the door so that it doesn’t close fully then she could slither away quietly like a snake. Evelyn closed her eyes and looked up at the white ceil
Damian glanced down at Evelyn who lay in his arms, sleeping peacefully. He stroked her hair and kissed her forehead, his expression softening. The fire that had erupted between them during their hot session was still vivid in his mind. She still wanted him. Physically at least, she still had feelings for him. That was enough to give him hope. He could win her love back they just needed to talk and sort whatever problem they had out. Damian massaged his temples thinking women were really strange. It was hard to read them. Imagine someone just starts throwing tantrums without explaining their reason for it and expecting you to guess? He was willing to do anything for her as long she stayed with him. Now that he had calmed down and emptied his blue balls, he had a sound mind and could think properly. When he went through Evelyn’s medical files he saw that the pregnancy was eight weeks old. He remembered it was the period after they had Zach locked up in jail. They couldn’t keep
