Chapter Three

When Marjorie didn’t get any reaction, she shrugged her shoulder and stood up. She clumsily fell on her first step and was about to fall but the wolf went in front and caught her.

Marjorie was shocked when she felt the wolf’s fur, it was the smoothest and softest she had ever encountered. 

“Whoa, so soft!” She unconsciously said while rubbing the fur but the wolf took a step back away from her. “Oh I’m sorry…”

"A-are you okay?" Marjorie questioned, then she suddenly started laughing while shaking her head. 

"Silly me, I bet you wouldn't understand what I'm saying right now. I just hope you don't eat me." She said to the wolf then realized something that made her look up at the sky. “I didn’t know it stopped raining, the moon is beautiful isn’t it?”

The wolf just stood there, as if it was studying her. Probably planning how he's going to eat her or it was thanking her for saving his life. In Marjorie’s perspective the wolf can’t understand her but she doesn’t know that what’s in front of her was not an ordinary wolf.

Marjorie suddenly remembered that whenever her unknown father sends the money, there’s usually a story about werewolves, vampires, soothsayers and witches. 

She didn’t understand why her father would send something like that but she read the books anyway to pass some time.

Most of the books were about how wolves can turn into humans and if they find their mate, they are bound to protect them for the rest of their life.

Marjorie  use to fantasize about finding a wolf, hoping that he is her mate and taking her away somewhere she can finally become happy for the rest of her life. 

Although as she grows up, she starts thinking that her fantasy was only for children and she’s not a child anymore who should believe in wolf stories or the Alpha among the wolves.

A sound of a wolf howling caused Marjorie to look into the forest where the wolf came and she knew that there were more wolves out there.

‘That’s strange, I thought this town doesn’t have any wolves.’ She thought as there has been no history of wolves in their town.

The wolf seemed to react to this as he looked at Marjorie before running towards the howl. Marjorie saw him looking back again before completely disappearing from her sight.

She did not witness how that wolf fought four other wolves and won the battle. He growled loudly as he dropped the hand of the wolf he just injured before howling to announce his victory.

The wolf ran back to his hometown and many greeted him by the entrance. His beta, Charlie, ran towards him in a human form while carrying a set of clothes.

“Alpha Marvin where have you been! I’ve been looking everywhere for you!” Charlie shouted in a worried tone as the black wolf, Marvin, shifted into his human form.

“I have my strength back.” Marvin stated as he walked past Charlie after he was done changing.

“Strength? What do you mean you have your strength back?” Charlie questioned while quickly following his Alpha.

They both went into his office and Charlie watched as his Alpha paced back and forth. 

“A girl saved me.” Marvin started and Charlie’s eyes immediately sparked in curiosity. “She pushed me out of the way and-”

Before Marvin could finish his sentence, a knock on the door was heard. The Alpha and the Beta glanced at each other and knew who they were. 

Charlie went to the door and opened it to reveal Jake Bolivion, the Beta of Marvin’s father, and many other wolves who were under his command.

“Marvin Brimon, I am here to strip you off your title as the Alpha of the Phantom clan.”

SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO

Marvin Brimon, son of Marlon Brimon and is next in line to be the Alpha of Phantom packs, received his wolf at the age of eight. Normal wolves would get theirs when they’re fifteen but Marvin was unique, even his father got his wolf at the age of fifteen.

He also took over his father’s leadership and became the Alpha wolf at such a young age. He instantly became the most powerful wolf in his packs and even surpassed his father.

Many envied how the Moon Goddess had given him so much blessing but was proud that their leader was strong.

It was said that once you find your mate, the bond you have with her will make you even stronger. It will give you the strength to be able to protect your mate and everyone you want to protect so if Marvin finds his mate, he will even get stronger and everyone in his pack will receive a blessing. 

Everyone is really looking forward to his eighteenth birthday as they also want to meet their future Luna.

The most excited one out of all of them was Charlie. He was pushing the organizer to make his party extravagant. Of course even though they’re wolves, they have learnt to blend in with the humans and marked their grounds.

You won’t even know that the person next to you is a wolf but they know who the humans are because of their strong sense of smell.

In the human world, Marvin owned one of the biggest businesses in the world which was the Phantom Company and he is also in the top ten richest people. So they planned to celebrate his birthday in the human world and within their tribes.

Even his parents couldn’t wait for his birthday to come and were helping Charlie organize. 

The Gathering was already looking extravagant even though the set up wasn’t completed yet and wolves from other packs already started arriving to experience the luxury of living in the Phantom’s hometown.

Marvin was also excited after all, it’s his Luna everyone is talking about and eager to meet. Not only that will make him stronger when he meets her, she will also be his one true love and the future mother of their future kids. 

Thinking about this makes his heart pounded and he felt warmth as he imagined his upcoming future with his Luna.

His thoughts were interrupted when he saw one of the guards running towards him with panic written all over his face.

"Alpha Brimon, the Scarlet packs are here." The guard announced and Marvin immediately ordered everyone to welcome them.

Scarlet  packs are the strongest wolf pack and it's led by James Knight, the strongest wolf and half lycan there ever lived. 

He had destroyed many strong packs in the past and Marlon was lucky that he managed to become allies with them.

One look at James and you know that your death awaits you if he was your enemy. They continue to conquer the other packs to get their resources, especially the women. They collect them and make them their servants or breeding stocks.

In the human world, James owns the biggest company in the world which was the Scarlet Corporation and Phantom Company stands at second biggest company. Both packs are strong and almost equal and nobody knows that they are working secretly together in the human world.

"Alpha Knight, what brings you here?" Marvin greeted them as soon as they entered the hall.

"Ah Marvin, drop the formalities. Just call me James." James instructed and Marvin nodded.

"What brings you here... James?" Marvin repeated.

James stopped a few meters in front of Marvin while looking around the place.

"Your place became bigger, must be because their Alpha is doing a very great job leading them." He complimented and Marvin offered a smile.

"Of course, with your guidance we managed to extend our packs faster than before." Marvin stated and James chuckled.

"I heard it's going to be your birthday soon, I'll be glad to meet your Luna the next time I visit here. I'll also bring all the women in my pack to increase the chance of you meeting her."

"I would gladly appreciate that."
