Chapter 13

Amikat's POV

I wake up from a weird dream the next morning. I wasn't in the astral or anything, but I kept seeing that vampire. The Vessel. I keep thinking about what he told me, that his plans had changed; if he wasn't here to kill me anymore, waht did he want? What did he mean by taking away my innocence? I probably need to tell Arienne about this.

He grumbles awake, his hands beginning to roam my body. I turn around to face his sleepy eyes and smile. "I like waking up next to you," he says.

"Me too," I reply. It's still early in the morning, and the sun isn't quite up yet. Maybe that means I'll have Arienne all to myself for a little but before he has to return to work. I'm suddenly pulled from my head and back to reality when Arienne plants a kiss on my forehead, sending tingles through my body. He traces his fingers over the spot where he marked me, which is completely healed by now. It sends little traces of pleasure through me, similar to when he marked me, but not as stron
