Slowly and cautiously, he moved his gaze toward the direction that he thought he had seen the source of the noise coming from.

And suddenly, he realized that the source of the sound had been Celine’s hand. She was clutching her left hand tightly in both of hers and she had begun rocking herself back and forth in a small circle.

The movements weren’t violent, though, but rather rhythmic, and were definitely something that Roman recognized as something she frequently did when she was upset.

It wasn’t that Roman was surprised that Celine was having trouble sleeping or that he was worried that she might be feeling uncomfortable.

After all, she had been through quite a bit today, and it was understandable that she might feel that way.

But what shocked him was that she was apparently doing it in the middle of the night instead of at the usual hour when he would normally be waking her up to ask her if she needed anything.
