Josie POV I hear ringing in my ears, as I feel myself dragged off to the side of the room. I can hear Lucas and Daniel yelling and pounding on the door trying to break in. However, they cannot get to me. I do not understand why, and I cannot open my eyes to see my surroundings. I try to determine what is around me with my other senses. Josie POV We hit hard both collapsing to the ground. I am up first but Lana goes low with her vantage point. She swings her leg around knocking my feet out from under me. She is on top of me quickly wrapping her hands around my throat. I hear Sam yelling for help as he continues to fight his bindings. I start to wonder if he does not have a spell on him as he cannot escape and cannot shift. Drawn back to Lana I reach my hands up and wrap them around her throat tighter than she is able to hold onto me. Her eyes start to bug out as I continue to tighten my fingers. Lucas POV My head whips around to Daniel. I had reconciled myself with the expectation he would turn Josie over to the Council. When he took responsibility for Lana’s death, I was shocked. What would this mean for his career with the Council? Would he be punished in turn for something he did not do? The lead councilperson stares at Daniel. Lucas POV I turned away from my people, emotion clogging my throat. I felt tears in my eyes. How had I been so wrong believing the Pack would not accept me? Lana. Miranda POV “We need to go back there,” I say quickly as Sarah and Lucas look at their dead mother’s body. I know they are overwhelmed but now I have an idea where they may be holding Daniel. “We need to move quickly before he moves Daniel,” I add as Sarah whips her head around to look at me, “What do you mean?” she asks stepping closer to me. “He will have felt their bond break; we need to move quickly,” I say again trying to get them all rallied around so we can teleport out and back to the clearing where Penelope said Daniel was. Sarah POV I knew everyone was safe from the warlock’s reach so I could focus a hundred percent of my attention on destroying him. From the corner of my eye, I saw that Daniel has passed out from his injuries. The poor man probably felt relief that help was so close to him. Or he simply could not take anymore. I knew everyone was counting on me to destroy this warlock … and that is what I intended to do. I had two advantages in this fight. I was powerful, and I had my wolf, Abby, to help me. Sarah POV Pain was racing through my entire body. I could feel the claw like pain where the warlock had me bound. It was like tentacles of barbwire were tearing through my flesh. There was no blood, but the feelings were intense. I could hear Jack pleading with me to fight. I was desperately trying to hold on, but the pain was wreaking havoc with my mind. I needed to hold on just a few minutes more. I needed to have the warlock at his prime. Ready to attack me with all that he has. The more Jack yells the more intense the pain becomes.
