Lucas POV

I consider my options. Daniel is my world and I want to simply do as she says. I cannot believe my own mother has become this vicious woman. “What happened to you?” I ask her quietly. She looks at me for a moment and I see a glimmer of my mother in there. “What did not happen to me?” she snarls at me.

“I do not know; I am curious,” I reply seeing Sarah and Miranda out of the corner of my eye moving to either side of the witch. I could not refer to her as my mother. The mother I remembered was kind and loving. This woman was a shell of the woman I remember. I could not remember much else, and I certainly do not remember anything painful from our past.

“It does not matter now. Now I have moved on, but I want this Pack. It belongs to me,” she says as if she is in her right mind. “It belonged to father’s family,” I remind her. “I should have been given the Pack as part of our parting, but he reneged on that deal,” she says angri
