Chapter Three

Dina had stars in her eyes as she stared at Jackson's projection, she was like a totally different person. The once professional girl was now reduced to an obsessed and crazed girl crazing over the projection, it was almost as if she wanted to go lick the screen.

Too much, Dina's obsession with Jack was too much.

Jackson sighed mentally, this kid.....

"Geraldina, we broke up, please stop it with that ridiculous name..." Jack said helplessly.

"But Jacky~, let's make up, please, I miss everything about you so bad, I still love you, Jacky...." Dina whined.

"Geraldina, WE'RE DONE, BEAT IT," Jack said coldly stunning Geraldina.

"B-but, you're just confused, aren't you... I mean... I,"

"Stop!"

Silence followed his bellow and Geraldina fell to her knees with a thump. She looked up with teary eyes, looking very pitiful as she sobbed slightly while saying-

"Jack, say it, just say it, what does she have that I don't?"

"My heart," Jack said straight-forwardly without a single change of facial expression.

"Since when...?" Dina asked in a hushed voice fully knowing that her heart was about to be crushed but still going on.

"Since ever, I'm sorry, it might sound heartless but..... I only dated you because you looked a lot like her."

Bam!

Dina felt her world crash before her, she had always thought that Jack had fallen out of love with her and that was why he ended their relationship.

But she was just a substitute, no wonder... the nostalgic look he held almost all the time when staring at her, she thought that she reminded him of a beautiful memory and she did, not just in the way she thought.

She had been a substitute for seven whole years, fuck... she was... why did she.... but why...

Dina stood up, her face blank and her eyes listless, she stared straight at Jackson and asked with a sad smile-

"Is this what you really want?"

"Yes, treat this as a goodbye gift from you to me," Jack said with a straight face.

"Alright, say it," Dina muttered tiredly.

"Zero, send the contents of the contract to her," Jack said with a satisfied smile.

Seeing such a smile Dina's heart thumped, he was still so cute... wait... why was she still...

A wave of information flowed into her brain making her dizzy for a while before everything became completely transferred.

The contract was a soul contract, she was to transmigrate which she assumed was traveling through different worlds with a mission of making a certain target feel different emotions, there was a strict warning that she should never fall in love with the target as the possibility of the target remembering her after the operation was close to nil.

Dina didn't mind this, she was already in love anyway, and traveling through this weird journey would help her in her study of time and space plus she trusted Jack would never hurt her but even if he did, she didn't mind as she would still do it as far as it was for Jack.

She was about to accept when she noticed a piece of information-

'The Transmigrator must be ready to use any methods including being in relationships and having sexual intercourse to fulfill the mission and other extreme measures as the target is an XXX ranked personal; the transmigrator has been warned.'

WHAT. THE. FUCK.?

"What is this Jack? You're telling me to enter another relationship and fuck another guy when my heart still has you?!" Dina screeched at Jack hysterically after noticing it.

"Geraldina...."

"You don't even call me Dina anymore, you don't want me anymore but that's fine, I could endure, I can just watch you from a far distance... but you're actually trying to push me into a relationship…?" Dina said in a pained tone.

Her beautiful face was filled with tears and they wouldn't stop flowing, her composure had been torn apart showing only a broken-hearted girl trying to shield pieces of her remaining heart.

"Geraldina, please agree to the contract," Jack said while sighing.

"You don't care?" Dina asked in a teary voice.

"Yeah," Jack said heartlessly.

"Is it about your so-called love?" Dina asked with an evil smile on her teary face.

"Yes, my Love, not my so-called Love," Jack said coldly.

"Haha, ahahaha, hahahah, oh Jacky.... you should know nothing comes for free. Jackson Venaz, I owe you nothing from now on, I thought I had a chance but substitute? For seven years? And even still. I... still want you but a girl gotta do what a girl gotta do so FUCK NO Jackson, I'm not being your fucking puppet anymore." Dina said with a giggle as she stood up, looking up at Jackson with an absolutely miserable face.

Tears were running down her face but she was giggling, she was crying yet laughing if despair was a face then she was wearing it right now yet the one she loved didn't care. It was all over for her, her life was over.

Jackson was never hers and couldn't be hers, yes she had always realized this and even more so now... so why?

WHY DOES IT STILL HURT LIKE THIS?!

Why couldn't she JUST LET GO?

"Send me back Johnson," Dina muttered tiredly.

"Listen D...."

"I SAID NO! NO! FUCKING NO! SEND ME BACK BECAUSE I, GERALDINA VERALDINA REJECT THIS OFFER AND WILL NOT ACCEPT YOU! I'M NOT BEING YOUR FUCKING PUPPET ANYMORE ASSHOLE! SEND ME BACK!"

It was the first time Dina was cold to Jack and he was a bit stunned, he gritted his teeth helplessly but couldn't do much since a contract couldn't be forced on a person.

"Send her back for the main time Zero-One," Jack said.

"Of course," Zero-One who had been listening on felt nothing and still followed the instructions given.

Dina raised her head, looking straight at Jackson with a hateful glare which soon softened into tears as she muttered something with a shallow shallow smile as she left.

Seeing Dina leave, Jack's cold façade broke showing a pained smile filled with indescribable emotions, remembering what Dina just muttered to him, he sighed.

"Help me... I really can't give up on you still," Dina had said with a face filled with something worse than despair... unyielding hope that would never be fulfilled.

The heartbreak of wanting to give up but being unable to, hoping... a hope that could never be fulfilled yet still hung unto tightly. Yes, what was worse than despair?

Unfulfilled hope that can't be let go of.

Now THAT was beyond despair itself.

"Tana.... I'll definitely free you from this curse... along with Thalassa," Jack sighed sorrowfully.
