Grief and dispair

Liberty’s POV

I can smell his breath even now. The memory making bile rise in my throat.

“I knew what he was about to do. Nobody had ever explained to me how pups came to be, but I had figured out as much from what I had seen. Even if I couldn’t find a way to free myself, I was never going to give him another soul to torture. I gathered the last bit of strength I could and brought my knee up right between his legs as hard as I could. He lurched forward and landed right on top of me, he was so heavy I couldn’t breathe. That’s when I heard Justice howl an apology and it felt like my whole body was torn apart whilst being turned over a roasting spit. The pain must have only lasted ten seconds but I was certain it would be the last thing I ever felt. Then it stopped, and I was still there, under him.
