Chapter 3 Gabriel

Gabriel's POV

I'm so excited! We're going home today. Even though we've only been here for 2 days, it's two days long enough and I miss our other mate. I can't wait to get home to Justin.

And even better, Austin and Anna flew in to drive our cars back so we can fly home. That means we'll be home by this evening. I can't wait to see our mate. I know Malaki misses him too.

To cut down on time, Malaki loaded the car while I ran to finish signing the last of our paperwork at the office.

I felt the excitement flowing through me as I walked out of the office. However, my smile dropped from my face when I saw Jimmy, Frank and steven, along with two others I didn't know. I've seen them around, but I don't know their names.

"Well if it isn't that alpha-loving fag!...Tell me, how did you do it? How'd you turn one of my best friends into an Alpha loving fag like yourself?"

He said then I took a step back as I watched all five of them walked toward me with their hands clenched.

Frank was growling at me as his hands kept opening and closing.

"You know, now that I think about it, it makes sense! Every time I saw Malaki I always saw you! I always thought it was just because you guys were friends and you came from the same area and grew up together. But now I know that's not the case. You had a fucking crush on him you disgusting faggot!"

He said, looking at me with so much disgust and hate.

"Listen guys, I don't care who you guys like or don't like. I'm just here with my mate to pick up our stuff and leave. We're leaving in a few minutes so you'll never have to see us again."

I said, hoping they would leave me alone by saying that. But I knew they wouldn't, I knew they were looking to pick a fight and there was nothing I could say to get out of this.

"You know the goddess doesn't actually pair males together. I bet you anything, that you had such a faggot loving crush on him that you had a witch make him believe he's your mate!

You may have him fooled but you don't fool us! Alphas aren't supposed to be together, nor are they supposed to be with other guys! You're going to pay for what you did you little fucking faggot!"

He said as he stepped to me. I growled in warning, warning them to back off as I extend up my claws. Ready to defend myself.... However, I wasn't ready for all of them to jump on me at once.

Before I could react, all five of them began to hit and kick me at once. The blows came from every direction, I couldn't even focus on one specific person as I kept taking hit after hit to the face, head and body.

The whole time they were hitting me, I kept hearing each person tell me how disgusting I was. I kept hearing the word faggot thrown around.

I went to the ground faster than I thought I would. And that was when I knew it was over for me. Every punch became a kick at that point as they continued to kick me over and over again. All five of them. I felt my head go flying back as I took a kick straight to the face. Blood instantly filled my mouth and I felt a tooth fly loose.

I didn't even get a chance to spit it out before the next kick was felt to the side of my head right behind my ear and my hearing became muffled instantly. Everything went dark for a moment before I felt another kick to the back of my head. I heard the sickening sound of my ribs breaking as I took a kick to my ribs. I screamed at the top of my lungs when I felt my ankle break as one of them picked my leg up before slamming it down on their knee.

I went to grab my ankle just to get kicked in the face again. Everything went dark but I was still awake. Everything was muffled but I still could hear a loud ferocious growl getting closer and closer. The growl was so loud and so primal. It vibrated my insides and bones as it came closer and closer. Everyone around me was suddenly gone and that was the last thing I remember feeling. The weightlessness as I was suddenly left alone.

I groaned as I came to. My body ached. I felt a gentle touch to my face and heard a muffled voice. I open my eyes, blinking them a few times as everything very slowly came into focus.

When it did, I saw the tear stained face of my mate. His eyes were swollen and red. I could see that he had been crying for a while and crying hard. I looked behind him to see all of our friends. Several of them had blood all over them just like Malaki did.

That's when everything came back and I remembered the brutal attack.

The attack because I loved another man and he just happens to be an Alpha as well. Everything that's taboo with some people who aren't from where I'm from.

Some of these states still see men loving men as a sin. They don't believe that men should be mated to another man.

They do evil things to mates who are males.

I'm certain if my mate didn't show up, they probably would have killed me. That's what they do, they kill or they hurt you really bad.

And if you don't learn the first time, if they happen to let you live and catch you with your mate again, they'll kill your mate and make you watch before they kill you.

I've heard the horror stories from others who have watched it happened to people they knew who have heard of it happening.

I reached up, my hand going to my handsome mates face. I've never been so thankful as I am in this moment that I don't live in a place like that. That I come from a place where same-sex love is accepted.

"I love you!"

I croaked out, with my broken voice that sounded like a damn frog. Tears ran down his face as he leaned down and pressed a kiss to my lips. But it was light and gentle. It was as if he was afraid to touch my lips and I know why. They hurt and I could still taste blood.

"I think Lucian should be here soon. I called Reid and told him what happened. I don't have Finn's number or I would have called him directly."

He said. And no sooner after he spoke those words we both looked around as we felt the strange vibration and heard the familiar hum.

You'd think we would be used to it by now, but we both still flinched as we saw Lucian suddenly appear right next to us.

Now our friends, that's a different story. They've never seen Lucian before, nor have they've ever seen an angel before.

Lucian showed up in all his glory. His body glowing white with his beautiful soft white feathered wings spread out wide. His eyes glowing white as he looked around at everyone.

As soon as he determined everything was okay, he moved forward and my mate moved away to give him space. He looked at me with pain in his eyes.

"I'm so sorry Gabriel."

He said as he reached out and placed his hands on me. He placed one hand on my left leg in the other on my forehead.

His wings opened up again and his body began to glow a bright white along with his eyes. I felt a warm sensation where he touched me begin to spread throughout my body. I clenched my teeth when I felt my bones snap back into place. My ribs and my ankle. I grunted when the ankle bone popped back into place. That hurt the most I think.

This definitely took longer than last time he healed me. Although last time it was more of a localized injury, where this is pretty much everywhere.

And since he doesn't have anyone else to heal this time, he takes his time to fully heal me of all my injuries. After a few moments, his wings fold down and the glow fades away from his body and eyes.

"Why don't you guys go ahead and say your goodbyes. I'm supposed to bring you home as well."

He said and my eyes went wide. That means I'm going to be home sooner than I thought! I'll be home in a matter of seconds! I thought as I quickly looked at Malaki who look just as happy as I did as he quickly moved forward and threw himself at me. This time not afraid to touch me as his body collides with mine.

After a moment he pulls away and we both looked at our friends who were still staring at Lucian with wide eyes. They looked at him in complete awe.

Both of us stood up chuckling as we looked at our friends.

"Guys, this is our uncle Lucian, and his human is Finn."

Malaki said so proudly as he ran his hand in a showing fashion.

Lucian looked at Malaki smiling before looking back at our friends.

"It's a pleasure to meet you friends of Malaki and Gabriel.

Thank you for helping Malaki save Gabriel. Mother thanka you as well. Mother says she's so proud of each and everyone of you. She's proud of the wonderful men you're becoming."

He said then they looked at us, unsure of what he was talking about.

"Mother is the moon goddess."

I said, smiling at them. Their eyes went wide. I watched as the eyes of several friends, fill with tears instantly when they realized what he said.

Our moon goddess is proud of them. Tears fell from their face at that realization.

"Mother loves you, each and every one of you!" He said smiling at them.

They look at us smiling as they wipe the tears from their face.

"Keep in contact! You stupid little shits! Don't forget to call us this time! And I swear, if you're ever anywhere near us and you don't call to let us know, I will come and hunt you down! You better visit!"

Malaki says, causing everyone to laugh including myself. Malaki wraps his arm around me, then gives Lucian a nod.

"Take us home your highness."

"I'm not, I'm not a king... I'm an angel!"

"Well then take us home your shininess!"

Lucian tilts his head as he looks at Malaki confused. I bite my cheek as I try not to laugh.

"Why do you always have to mess with Lucian like that!"

I said, causing malaki to fall into a fit of laughter.

"Because he's too easy!" Malaki said.

"Lucian, ignore this idiot and take us home!"

I said as I reached out for Lucian. He shook his head, trying not to look at Malaki as he grabbed both of us.

This is the first time he's ever taken either of us. Neither of us have experienced this.

The hum was even louder than I expected. The vibration was even more intense. It rattled every fiber of my being. As the ground disappeared from under my feet, I saw the most blinding light flashed before my eyes. I squeezed my eyes closed as I tried to shield them from it.

Moments later the bright light was gone and I felt solid ground under my feet again. Lucian let go of us and I fell to my knees and threw up. I wasn't the only one. I felt Malaki dropping to the ground with me. I heard the sound of him throwing up right next to me which only made me throw up more at the sound of him throwing up.

I'm pretty certain at this point, we were causing each other to keep throwing up because that's what happened. We both kept throwing up until I finally crawled away from him.

I fell backwards onto the grass, so thankful he jumped us outside and not indoors.

That would have been one hell of a mess to clean up if we would have been inside.

"That was kind of gross!"

I heard Lucian say and I looked up at him shocked. Just to see him looking at both of us but with a disgusted look on his face as he held his stomach.

I'm pretty certain this is the first time I've ever seen an angel on the verge of throwing up. I suppose that's what happens when you watch two people throw up continuously over and over again.

"Screw you! Aren't you supposed to be sympathetic or some shit! For goddess sakes, you're an angel! Can't you fix this so we don't throw up!"

I hear Malaki say and I looked over to see him wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. I dropped my head back into the grass as I began laughing.

I looked at the beautiful sky, the trees around me and the pack house to my left and laughed even harder.

I'm home!... Home never felt as good as it does at this very moment!
