Chapter Thirty-Six

"Come with me..." Lorenzo said, standing in the doorway of the bedroom.

I stood up immediately and followed him out of the bedroom. He walked to one of the corner rooms that is always locked and unlocked it. He entered the dark room and for a second, I contemplated if I should follow him in or not.

I rolled my eyes, I have been living with this man for a month now, and I have been sleeping with him in the same bed at night. I don't know why I was still a little afraid of him.

Shaking my head, I stepped inside and Lorenzo locked the door behind us. A second later, the room illuminated and my eyes roamed around instantly.

It was a European-style study, dimly lit and cozy. There was a dark wooden bookcase lining the entire right wall, a leather couch with a fur rug over the back and a knit blanket draped over one of its arms. The far wall has a huge fireplace and mantle ruling the middle, with shelves lining it on one or the other side.
