The winter in Zamira was quite different from the winter I was used to. Snow fell here only once and melted almost immediately. On the one hand, the warm weather allowed the residents of the capital to save money on warm clothes, but on the other hand, for many months everything around looked gray and dull, and this did not contribute to a good mood.

A light cool breeze forced the locals to wrap themselves in fur capes and complain to everyone in a row about the unbearable weather. I walked through the park only in a woolen dress and every now and then I caught the puzzled looks of students. Aristocrats are so fragile.

The village in which our shelter was located was constantly covered with snow, often there were severe frosts, which covered the already cloudy windows of our closets with ice patterns. For the winter we were given sheepskin coats and holey woolen stockings. If, upon returning, there were more holes in the stockings than initially, one could run into a spanking.
