The weather was fine outside. Several small birds flew almost above the ground. I lifted my head, exposing my face to the sun's rays and soaking up the happiness.

- Mom, why do birds fly so low? I asked the woman who carefully held my hand. She was the most beautiful and always smelled very nice. I hope when I grow up I will be like her.

“It will probably rain,” she replied.

- Rain? But there isn't a cloud in the sky! I drawled indignantly.

Mom was silent and the whole environment suddenly seemed unreal to me. Throwing my head up, I saw how heavy blue clouds were covering the sky right before my eyes. The street darkened sharply. I clung to my mother and trembled with fear.

“You misbehaved, Mira,” she said sternly. I looked at her in surprise and immediately recoiled, trying to free my hand from her grip. Darkness swirled around her, creeping into her nostrils, her eyes, and her open mouth. I screamed and struggled even harder, but she held me in a death grip.
