05: Aurora

The morning would have been better for Aurora if she wasn't badly with a nasty headache. She had even tried wrapping wrapping a cold towel around her head as her father always does to her when she is sick but it was of no use.

She pressed her lips together, picking up her phone and dialing James's number. Maybe he will have something to that give her and it will subside the headache. She hissed when the call ended and there was no response from James.

She tried again, hoping that he will really do pick up this time and she will shout on his head for not picking the first time but had to keep her phone away when he didn't. She cursed under her breath as she made her way to the bathroom. "Nothing is going well for me." She uttered, bring out a new set of brushes and a toothpaste, keeping it by the mirror.

"I wonder what James is doing that he didn't pick my call. What is he up to at this time that he is not awake?" She asked no one in particular.

She looked at her reflection in the huge mirror plastered on the wall then left to check if there was hot water running from the shower. To her dismiss, the water was cold and no matter her attempt to water for hot to gush out was of no avail. She palmed her face, screaming and hating the fact that James didn't pick up her call.

She is not used to this lifestyle hence it is slowly beginning to take it effect on her because she had never imagined that she will standing under the shower with no hot water. She quickly wrapped a towel around her body then went straight to the kitchen were used a pot to boil hot water.

She returned the living room, turning on the news and the first thing that she saw was a pile of gang that were massacred, again. Her mind instantly clicked and she had an idea of who had done it. Two times in a row.

From the news, it was said that most of the gang members were slaughtered and their blood was drained out of them, leaving them totally empty. She doesn't need to be told twice that it was the work of the vampire king because he is the only capable of doing such. "If only there will be a way that I will get to one of the gang member and then ask him or her where I can find Noel." She uttered, pressing her chin.

"Don't rush things Aurora. You don't know what Noel is up to so I will advise that we take our time and make research, that way we can take him by surprise." Her wolf, Diane suggested.

Aurora gave it a thought for a whole minute before she made up her mind and then decided to heed to what Diane had said. It was onky because she trusted Diane after her father. Diane is the wolf that her mother had personally chosen for her since Aurora was the last descendent of the primordial wolves.

If Aurora is to die then the blood of the primordial wolf ends with her and it was said to be a bad thing to happen as the werewolf world won't have anyone to guide them so it is up to Aurora to make things right and make their world a better place.

The heat emitting from the kitchen had her jumping on her feet and rushing into the kitchen to find that the water was done boiling and has even started to reduce. She turned off the stove then poured over the water to the little bucket she had found in the bathroom and had also washed it to make sure that it was safe for her to use.

She returned to the bathroom, removing the towel from her body. She then diluted the hot water before scrubing the dirt off her body, getting the refreshing feeling that she had wanted and always loved.

When she was done, she parted her hair into two then blowed dried it and ended putting it into a ponytail. She combed the edge, satisfied with the results before exiting the bathroom to prepare for her day and explore the town, even without James because she can't be having him ignore her calls when he knows that he has someone to help into adjusting into lives of humans.

Aurora picked a pink sleeveless gown that stopped after her knee and she paired it with a black tee jacket that covered her arms. "Unto the next agenda." She sang away moving to the kitchen to prepare breakfast since she had gotten bread and other things before James left yesterday.

She toasted the bread then spread the peanut butter on it and made coffee to drink. That alone has been what she eats for breakfast for years and has never made an attempt to change it. She was pretty much used to it and had adapted to it.

"I have decided, I am going to look for a job." She said out loudly to James who was sitting stunned across her.

"No, scratch that. I have already found a job down the street. They were looking for a waitress and I told them that I can do it." She revealed.

He sipped his orange juice as he looked at the way she spoke, making her stop. "What is wrong?" She asked checking around the room to see what he has been looking at.

"Nothing, go on." He urged, shrugging his shoulders.

She swallowed then continued to tell him how she had suffered in the morning to get hot water to bath and then left the house when she was done. That was when she came across the flyer that the restaurant down the street were looking for a waitress and she applied which they told her to resume the next day.

She blinked her eyes when she was done explaining everything to him and yet, he hasn't said anything to her. "James, stop looking at me that way and tell me what you think." She cried out hitting him on the chest.

"I dont have anything to say about this Aurora. It is your life, your choice though I want to remind you that uncle Russell won't be happy when he finds out." He warned.

She grinned standing up from the couch. "He won't find out unless someone tells him and that someone will be you so promise me that you won't tell him anything." She stated, bring forward her pinky finger.

With no words uttered, James brought forward his pinky finger then clicked it together. "It is done." She said happily.

"Wait, I am going to make this clear that I won't be the one to take the blame when he finds out. You will do that yourself and stand up for yourself, you are a grown ass lady so you don't need me to cover up for you all the time." He reminded while he earned a glare from Aurora.

He chuckled, bringing out his phone and realising how late it was getting. "I will be leaving. I will be here in the morning to drop you off at school for your first lectures." He informed, picking his car key and also popping a cherry fruit into his mouth.

"Sure, I will wait for you." She rolled her eyes before seeing him off the door and making sure that she locked it.

She returned to the room, wondering what she should do to before the day completing runs out. She is not enthusiastic about the new as much as she had seen most of the werewolf ladies act when they are leaving the pack.

Sometimes, they look as if they were been given heaven and that they could access it from their palms. "It might be their heaven, you don't know. And you too, will soon find your heaven." Diane pointed out.

Aurora rolled her eyes at what Diane had just said. "Heaven doesn't comes that way Diane. Maybe we should what they feel happy and 'enthusiastic'. You should more than everyone that heaven is unreached to the livings." She pointed out.

"You can't say more when you haven't gotten something that makes you happy and enthusiastic as you labeled it. Just need to stop condemning those that felt they have found their heaven on earth." Diane warned, making her mimicked what she had said.

Aurora began to prepare the files that she was asked to provide on her first day at school. Putting everything together, she noticed that she was missing a particular document that showed that she had stayed in Atlanta all her life.

Without wasting anytime, she sent a message to James to inform him of the missing document and also if it was with him. She continued to prepare her bag until her phone beeped and she checked seeing a reply from James.

'Oh, I forgot to tell you that it was here with me. Remind me to take it tomorrow, bye." The message had said.
