"I think I'm ready to know how you guys met," Leo informed, as he got on the bed.

Alexa looked at him with a sad face. "It was a very long time ago. I was four. We were four."

Leo nodded. "Okay."

"Me, my mom, and dad went out on a family day when we almost ran them both over. They were scared to death, and they were very small, dehydrated, and unhealthy. They were pitiful. My mom wondered where they came from, but they couldn't answer because they were shaken up. Out of pity, my mom decided to help. We took them to a hospital, treated them well, and after that my mom called social services. In the end, we discovered the foster parents taking care of them were neglecting them. I was already loving them, they were my age, and I wanted them close. Since then, we kept tabs on them, my parents took care of them, I always visited them, and just like that, we grew up together as best friends."

Leo nodded in understanding. "It's a really long story."
