That night, Jules could not sleep, as she tossed on her bed. Although she was glad that Harris and Harley liked her, she was still worried.

How would she cope with Hardin, and the other(Hero) whom she is yet to meet? she wondered how he would react when he meets her. If he would also react like Hardin.

After tossing around for a long time, she decided to go downstairs to get water, because she was feeling tasty.

Jules walked down the slightly dim hallway, heading toward the kitchen. She was grateful that Mr. Scott and Harley had given her a tour around the house, or she would have missed her way.

Although the hall was dim, Jules could still make out where she was going, so she didn't bother putting on the light.

Jules strolled into the kitchen, and grabbed a bottle of water, before walking out. When she was about to make her way upstairs, she felt a strong presence in the hall.

Although Jules, could not see the person clearly, she could still make out that it was a man, because of his tall and muscular figure, he also emitted a strong and daring aura, that could make one weak in the knee.

Oh God, who could it be? who would be awake by this time of the night? Jules wondered, trembling slightly. She noticed that the figure was way taller than Harris, Hardin, or even Mr. Scott.

"Maybe he's a thief. No no, a thief cannot break into a well-secured house that easily. Could it be... Oh God, maybe it is a ghost, she pondered,  sweating profusely.

Jules felt fear like she had never before, her heart thundered fast and hard against her chest. How come Mr. Scott didn't tell me, his house was haunted? or perhaps he didn't know.

What do I do now? Maybe if I plead with him, he might leave quietly. But what if he disagrees and chooses to stay, so he can keep haunting the family.

"Jules thinks you'll have to do something to get rid of this ghost, that way he would never bother this beautiful family again."

At that moment, the figure began walking toward her in slow strides. " Who is there?" his deep voice echoed.

Jules gasped, her fear shooting up to an increasingly high level. She puts one hand over her mouth to prevent herself from screaming, while she held the water in the other.

Oh God, he is definitely a ghost. Just hear how deep his voice is. She suddenly remembered that she was holding a bottle of water in her hand. Yes, this could work, although it isn't holy water, I'm sure once I pray to God, it will turn one.

"God, please turned this water into holy water," she prayed silently.

Once the supposed ghost was in front of her, she immediately opened the water and poured it on him.

"Leave now you ghost, return to the underworld from which thy hath come," she yelled.

"What the fuck!" He roared angrily, yanking her to him.

Ahh! Jules shrieked. I didn't know that ghost also curse, I must have pissed him off, Jules pondered.

"Oh spirit, please don't take my soul, I don't want to die now," she pleaded.

"What nonsense," he yelled, and the light went on.

Ahhh! Jules screamed, raising her to strike him, but he was quick to catch it.

"Are you crazy, do I look like a ghost?" He yelled, glaring at the woman in front of him.

Jules glanced up to meet a pair of beautiful sapphire blue eyes, staring angrily at her. She immediately gasped in recognition. Oh my God, so it wasn't a ghost, but Hero Scott.

Hero who just returned from work after a hectic day also didn't bother to turn on the light because he was familiar with everything and every room in the house.

why is he awake by this time? Jules thought.

She gulped, remembering what Mr.Scott had said about him. He is rude and short-tempered.

What have I done? I just ruin every chance of him liking me.

"I...I'm so sorry, I thought it was a ghost," she stuttered, giving him an apologetic look.

He scoffed. "You are sorry? just look what you did to me," he yelled, pointing at his wet cloth.

"That's why I'm apologizing to you, I'm sorry," Jules said, more pitiful this time.

"Just keep quiet! can your apology change the fact that you poured water on me, because of your stupid intuition?"

Jules couldn't believe her ears, yes she was a little stupid for jumping to the conclusion that he was a ghost, but then again, she was apologizing to him.

"Look here Mr, what part of I'm sorry don't you understand. Yes, I made a mistake, but I've apologized to you, what more do you want?" She barked, poking his chest.

Hero was dumbfounded. "Did she just yell at me, just who is she?" He thought, realizing that he had never seen her before.

"Who are you?" He asked, giving her a curious look. He knew she wasn't a maid, because no maid would be in the hallway at such a time instead they would be in their quarter, after all, they had everything they needed there.

Jules scoffed. "That's not important. Right now, I'm feeling sleepy and would like to go to bed, but I'm pretty sure you'd find out tomorrow," Jules said, before walking past him.

Hero watched her as she climbed upstairs. "Could she be one of Harris's girlfriends," he thought clenching his fist. Whoever she is, he hated her already.

The fact that she talked back at him did not seat well for him, and he vowed to teach her a lesson when he gets the chance.

...

The next morning Jules woke up, to someone knocking on her door.

"You can come in," she groaned.

A small figure entered her room, running toward her.

"Mommy," she yelled, throwing herself on Jules.

Jules smiled at the little child. "Good morning to you too Princess," she mumbled.

Harley's eyes lit up and giggled happily. After their mother passed away four years ago, she had never had a mother figure, so seeing Jules made her happy.

"Mommy, you have to get up now, so we can have breakfast and you'd take me to school," she told Jules. Harley could not wait to go to school, so she would show off her new mommy to all those who bullied her in the past because she didn't have one.

"Okay, princess. I will freshen up and meet you downstairs," Jules replied, getting out of bed.

"Okay Mommy, but don't take too long," Harley yelled, running out of the room.

Jules quickly freshens up, putting on black jeans, a white crop top, and white Snickers to go. She also packed her hair in a messy bun, and apply lip gloss, before making her way downstairs.

Eight pairs of eyes stared at her immediately she came into view.

"Good morning everyone," she let out, casting a curious glance around for any sign of Hero. When she didn't see him, she was happy and prayed that he already left for work.

However, her prayer was not answered, as an angry Hero walked downstairs, casting her a hateful glare before walking past her to meet the other at the dining table.

"Who is she, Harris?" He asked his brother because he still had the impression that she was his brother's girlfriend.

Harris chuckled, before turning to his father. "Dad will tell you," he replied.

Hero turns to their father with a confused look.

"Dad, who is she?"

Mr. Scott sneered. "Is this how you greet your father in the morning?" He scolded instead, tilting his gaze to meet Jules, who was still standing.

"Come angel, don't stand there come seat beside me," he told her.

Jules made her way to where he was, making sure to avoid eye contact with them, before popping down on a seat beside him.

Hardin rolled his eyes, then he said. "Speak of the devil."

While Harris and Harley smiled at her.

"By the way Mrs. Scott, you look good," Harris commended, winking at her.

"Could she be his fiancee, why did he call her Mrs. Scott? and why did he tell me to ask dad, instead of just telling me?" Hero thought getting more confused.

He threw an angry stare at Jules, before turning back to his brothers.

"Can someone tell me who she is?" He snapped angrily.

"Calm down Lord grumpy, she is our new mommy."
