"Calm down Lord grumpy, she is our new mommy," Harley told him, rolling her big eyes.

Hero still didn't understand what she meant, so he said. "What do you mean?"

Hardin sighs, and decided to put an end to his confusion. He wanted to see how Hero would react, whether he would also like their gold digger step mom, or hate her just like he does.

"She is dad's new wife, Jules Verne."

"What!" Hero yelled, making everyone on the table, tremble slightly.

"Dad is Hardin saying the truth? Is this dimwit, really your wife?"

"Watching it Hero, how dare you call her a dimwit? this should be the last time you call her something like that. You must show her respect as your stepmother," Mr. Scott reprimanded angrily.

"I will call her whatever I want dad. How can you tell me that she is your wife, when did you get married?"

"That's none of your business son. All you need to know is that she is my loving wife, and you must respect her, whether you like it or not."

Hero scoffed. "That will never happen, dad. I will never approve of her. Don't you see dad, I'm sure she married you because of money, or why else would a young lady like her marry you, an old man? she is just like all the other women, a gold digger, who wants nothing else but money."

"Brother, that is what I told dad, but he didn't listen to me," Hardin said, happy that someone was seeing things from his point of view.

Mr.Scott closed his eyes, trying to suppress his anger. He hated the fact that his sons were speaking ill of the innocent girl.

Harris on the other hand, immediately took Harley outside, to prevent her from seeing such a scene.

...

Jules glanced up to look at Hero and Hardin. They were both speaking ill of her like she wasn't there.

If it was not for the fact that she needed money, she wouldn't be here receiving such insults.

Mr.Scott saw her hurt expression and wanted to say something, but Jules stopped him by placing her hand on his.

"Leave it, I'll handle this myself," she tells him, rising to her feet.

"Look here you two. Whether I'm a gold digger or not, I don't think that's any of your business. And as for why I married you dad, or why he married me, it is also none of your business. Besides, it's his life and just like he has no right to make decisions for you, you also have no right to make decisions for him. Now the both of you had better get that into those empty brains of yours," she yelled out, before turning to Mr. Scott.

"Dear, I will take my leave now. I had promised Harley that I would take her to school, I don't want her to be late."

"It's fine angel, you can leave," Mr. Scott permitted. The reason he calls her an angel was that he saw her as one. She was the angel that was going to change his sons.

"Okay dear, take care of yourself while I'm away," Jules muttered, pecking his forehead before leaving.

As she walked away, six pairs of eyes watched her. Two in admiration, while the other four in anger.

"Brother, did you see how insolent she is? Just look at how she yelled at you, even though you are much older than her."

Hero clenched his fist after hearing that, and his anger shot up to an increasingly high level. Never before has anyone, or a woman for that matter, spoken to him like that.

"I'll make sure I teach you a lesson, or my name isn't Hero Scott," he thought before walking away in anger.

Mr. Scott watched him leave, and his lips curled up into a smirk. "You've finally met your match," he mumbled under his breath.

Hardin also turns to look at his father, before walking away.

Meanwhile, Harley paced around the house, throwing occasional glances at the door.

"Why isn't she coming out?" She yelled at her brother impatiently.

"How would I know that chubby?" Harris replied with an eye rolled, watching his little sister who was acting like an old woman.

"I said you should never call me that again," she glared at him.

"You also call Hero, Lord grumpy, so why can't I call you chubby?"

"Just keep quiet Harris, before I look for a horrible nickname for you too."

"Whatever chubby, I'm sure you won't find any because I'm too perfect."

"Don't flatter yourself Mr arrogant, you not all that handsome, I wonder what those girls see in you?"

"They see my perfection."

Harley rolled her eyes, shaking her head at her brother's statement. She just couldn't deal with him right now, because she had something else to worry about.

Just when she was about to say something, she was cut off by Jules.

"Princess," Jules called walking toward her. She crouch down to her size before saying "I'm sorry I kept you waiting."

"It's okay mommy, I'm glad you are here now," Harley replied with a smile, which Jules returned, before standing up.

"Come now Lily, let me take you to your school."

"Lily?" Harley repeated, giving Jules a confused look.

"Yes princess, I will call you Lily from now on," Jules told her and she beamed, turning over to her brother.

"Look, Mommy knows how to give a nickname unlike you."

"Whatever you say Harley, but you will always remain chubby to me," Harris replied, bursting into a fit of laughter, which angered Harley.

"Mommy, come let's go, I don't want to look at him, he's so annoying," she muttered, taking Jules's hands and pulling her away to an SUV that was parked, nearby.

"Bye Mrs. Scott, bye chubby," Harris yelled, before getting into his Lamborghini and driving away.

Jules and Harley also got into the SUV, and the driver drove away.

Immediately after they left, Hero walked out and watch as the SUV drove out of sight.

What even made him angry more was that his enemy was in the car with his little sister, whom he loved unconditionally.

...

As Jules and Harley, chatted happily on their way, Jules asked her what she liked.

"I love fashion, I also like the color pink and I like to eat spaghetti, chocolate, ice cream, cake, and other delicious snacks."

Jules chuckled at her reply, then she said. "Okay princess, since you like all those stuff, I will always make them for you. you know, I can bake very well."

"Really!" Harley squealed.

"Yes, Lily and from now on, I will also take you to school every day."

"Wow! Thank you, mommy," Harley said with tears in her eyes.

"What's wrong?" Jules asked, concerned.

Harley sniffs, before saying "you know, I never imagined that I would have another mommy after my real mommy went to heaven, but I'm glad I do now, please don't ever leave me."

Jules's heart clenched, as the little girl said that. She started to feel guilty. She knew that after six months, her contract would be over and she would have to leave. But she still wiped Harley's tears and said, "Don't cry princess, even if a time comes when I'll have to leave, I promise I would always visit and we'd go out and have lots of fun together."

"Thank you, mommy," Harley replied, and just after, they arrived at her school.

"Come on mommy, it's time to show those bullies how pretty my new mommy is," Harley muttered, putting on her shades, before coming out of the car.

Jules also did the same, before coming out of the car, and together they made their way into the school premises, as the other students gawk at them.
