The very next morning, he accompanied her to her hostel. Much to her dismay, everyone gaped at her when she got down the car with him by her side. He wanted to take her to her room himself but she denied and asked him to leave her be. He respected her decision and left her in the hallway. Neon lights making her eyes hurt, she lowered her gaze as she walked inside. The man closed the door shut as she was forced to move forward and couldn't look back. Bernard was sitting on a couch, as usual his presence was dark and stark. She tried to see his face but couldn't. "How was your day Miss Veronica?" He asked in a husky voice. "It was fine Sir......." He gave her a room on the ground floor while his was upstairs, on the first floor. The large penthouse even had a fountain in the middle and a large balcony where all of the city could be viewed. "Can I pay you after I get my salary?" She asked him as he showed her the room. "I don't think I asked you about money yet" he replied, not liking how she was so worried to pay him. "You might not need my money, but I will not stay if I won't pay you" Veronica told him, as she placed her suitcase inside which his butler bought just a few minutes ago. From that onwards she never protested again as Bernard dropped her to university everyday and when she would get off, his driver would come to pick her up and drop at the hotel. Life became easy for her momentarily. She did not realize how much she was getting used to all the luxuries he had provided her. Unknowingly everything was becoming a part of her life. On weekends they would spend some time talking over lunch, sometimes they would sit together in the library as he would work on his laptop and she would complete her assignments. On late, cold nights after work, they would sit together for a cup of coffee in the lawn and gaze at the shining stars. They both started to like each other's company, as she realised that he was really a decent man and nothing grumpy as she used to think. Waves crashing against the rocks and the moon seeping through the clouds. The sea roared against the calm sky and it was all a melody to hear for the ones who could understand. It was a beautiful hut alongside the beach, furnished with glass as main material. Almost dreamy, it looked like straight out of a fairytale to her. He opened the car door for her himself. The very next morning she woke up all alone in that comfy bed, with the sight of calming sea through the large window. She rubbed her eyes as she looked over, but of course she was all alone in that large room. She got up and realised that she had been wearing a silk night suit which he gave her last night. Taking a bath and brushing her teeth, she took off the night suit and wore her usual last night's dress. She descended the stairs and found him busy in the kitchen, as he whipped the coffee and placed the cups in the tray. "Good morning!" She greeted him with a smile. "Good morning pretty lady!
